It's not because of his nationality, it's because of him officiating most of his games in a substandard football league, with much lower-paced football and much less pressure.
I.e. he lacks the experience of a ref plying his trade in Germany, England or Spain.

fair enough, that makes more sense, but he had to realise that he was gonna get in trouble for saying it. No matter if he thinks that he should have just said that some of the decisions were wrong but just left it at that.

Think there is merit to this argument. A referee who officiates in the championship has to prove himself before being allowed Prem games. With all due respect the standard of the Swedish league is poor in comparison to the top leagues.

Its the same in the World cup when countries like Gabon ot Tunisia or Vietnam have refs officiating at quarter finals. Well out of their depth.

Dont neccessarily agree with the way Pellers said it but do agree with the underlying aspect

Yea they have, they refused the spanish judges request ti see the paperwork for the transfer...

The judge now has to request the local officials to put an order on them - which js seen as just a formality.

But if there wasn't anything 'dodgy' why would FIFA/UEFA withhold them?

Barca will walk away unhinged from this. Members of the cosy club always do... still nice to see them charged.

He will be guilty so just needs to take his punishment. It's out of character but shows what pressure does.
Anyone see him waving his imaginary yellow card at one point, bet Alan Pardew was calling him an FOC again when he saw that!

It's what happens when you call a ref a biased cheat from a substandard country. Maybe if Pellegrini had put as much passion into his pre-match team talk as he did slating the referee we wouldn't have fucking lost.

Maybe if we made the stadium an intimidating place to come for opposition teams and refs then we might find we get a few more 50/50 decisions. Another disappointing atmosphere again given the occasion.

Two things for me here. Was the ref shit? Yep so Pellers was right to have a go. Never in the world a penalty and no fucking chance will that be looked at. Red card can't be appealed as that's the correct call, but for that goal they were gifted we shall never get that back, so why not highlight how we've been robbed?

2nd for all we dislike about Mourinho, the thing I will always admire about him is his ability to make it his side v the world in their eyes and get some fight from them. If we are to overturn a 2 goal deficit at nou camp, we need a big spoon of that mixture in my opnion. Fire these boys up.
Tracking back is overrated.

Apparently Maureen got a 5 game ban for saying something similar, so a ban is coming. He'd have been better making monkey noises at him, as that's only a €10,000 fine

According to BBC MP is apologising and clarifying in today's presser.

"I felt from the beginning his criteria was not the same for both teams, I think he had a bad day - everyone can have a bad day - but I didn't say that intentionally he didn't give fouls for us or did give fouls for Barcelona. I said from the beginning it was not the same criteria. I repeat, a bad day, not dishonest."

fielding an ineligible player anyone?
Never criticise a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes.
That way when you do criticise him you'll be a mile away.
And you'll have his shoes.

I'm glad he's apologised. Looks a bit less of a prick by admitting he was just a bit upset.

Doubt it will stop UEFA throwing the book at him though.

So now that he's been officially charged by the powers that be, what's the outcome?
