Doubt it will stop UEFA throwing the book at him though.

Hes right about Swedish refs though.

Fair point. They may be better than Norwegian ones though.

I was on m.o.t.m. panel once for a minor football tournament in Norway, & the star man went on a run, beat one who kicked him, stayed on his feet, another kicked him, stayed on his feet got away, another tried to scythe him down, kept his balance got past him, clean through to run at goal. The fucking ref blew & gave him a free kick.

I was stood there with my fucking mouth open. This was a pro ref. Lino looked up to us shaking his head as if to say 'what a pillock'.
Amazing some of the shit these blokes can see in their heads. Bet he never gave out 3 yellows like Graeme Poll though.

It was a Red Card and for me he is trying to detract from the real issue which was a piss poor team selection and he knows it.

Learn the lesson for the third time and pick the right team.

What a simplistic post. Pick the right team. He's supposed to know how to the exact formula for everything is he? Considering all the experts on here pick a different 11 to each other's I'd suggest that's a non starter mate.

THEY SHOULD BE BANNED FROM EUROPE.

IMMEDIATELY

fielding an ineligible player anyone?

FC Arsenal Kyiv have been handed a 3-0 forfeit defeat for fielding an ineligible player, Eric Matoukou, in their UEFA Europa League third qualifying round first leg against ND Mura 05.

ND Mura 05 have been awarded a 3-0 win in their UEFA Europa League third qualifying round first leg against FC Arsenal Kyiv after the Ukrainian team fielded an ineligible player.

Last Thursday's opener ended in a 3-0 win for the home side, but UEFA's Control and Disciplinary Body ruled that the result should be a 3-0 victory for Slovenian visitors Mura because Arsenal Kyiv's Eric Matoukou, the scorer of the third goal, was serving the second game of a two-match suspension.

Matoukou had been handed a two-match ban after receiving a red card while playing for KRC Genk in a UEFA Europa League qualifier against FC Porto on 19 August 2010.

The Cameroonian international sat out the second leg of that tie in Portugal but, having not been registered for UEFA competition by Genk in 2011/12, had not served the second part of his suspension before taking to the field last week.

With the first-leg result having been forfeited, Mura will be defending a 3-0 lead when the tie concludes in Slovenia on Thursday. In addition, Matoukou has now been banned for two matches, the first being the upcoming second leg. An appeal can be lodged against this decision within three days of the dispatch of the written decision.
