Yesterday was the opposite. In a team struggling for inspiration, & looking mentally & physically fucked, including Yaya, he found extra pace & energy from somewhere, & he won us the game.
Fantastic. Could be crucial.
Reminiscent of a certain spell of games 2 seasons ago?
Lets hope Aguero's return has the same effect as Tevez's too then
This is what I was thinking too, about both situations.
The League Cup final is coming so that's one competition less, then a result in the Wigan game, means there can be only 2 more FA Cup games. Things are clearing up a little & we can see the finish line.
If we get Micah, Milner, Nasri, (& hopefully Jovetic) fully fit, then having the jewell in the crown back could give everyone the boost needed, get Negredo/Dzeko firing again & possibly get us killing off the season like we did the last few games with Tevez/Yaya.
Our rivals will all feel the pressure now. You could particularly see it with Chelsea & Liverpool.
I was really worried about the Sunderland game, because we were in trouble as a team just then, & then playing Hughes/Stoke just after playing Barca with 10 men. It was a big performance from both Yaya & the weather to help us through that spell.
I would rather play 5 games in ten days at the end of the season, in better weather conditions, than be squeezing stuff in with an injury hit squad, in shit temperatures & gale force winds.
If we are looking in good shape after the Barca game, whatever the result, I think we will get a couple of big away victories & win the title.
