My first reaction and thought was that it was a cross.
However I then saw the replay and it was simply perfection.
He places it yet gets so much power.
Just amazing.

I'm absolutely certain now, that the free kick a minute or so earlier was supposed to be played around then back to Yaya so he would be in space, to shoot from there but it was fucked up & passed back to him too hard.

It is almost the same spot on the pitch to where he was stood when he smacked the goal in. Again, it's down to practice, I'm sure of it.

Aye. Although if we wanted to give Yaya a free shot on goal then why not let him shoot from the free kick? My first thoughts were that we'd made a right pigs ear of that free kick. Would have preferred either Yaya or Kolarov to have a pop but I guess it worked out for the best!

I can only assume it's to shift the wall & the position of the keeper.

One of the rag's semi-final penalties narrowly missed the moon.

the debate on Radio5 between Mick McCarthy and Robbie Savage was that McCarthy was convinced it was a cross to the on running strikers, Savage said it was the best goal he'd ever seen at Wembley

Nasris was a goal of exceptional quality - so much so I wasn't 100% certain which of the two this thread was referring to. The best angle to see Nasris is from behind him. It's pure instinct and he absolutely wallops it on the outside of his foot. He sets it out some way outside the post and bends it in perfectly.

Which is best I don't honestly know, another mark of how good Nasris is, is that the keeper is rooted to the spot. However Yaya's strike is simply outstanding, I initially didn't want us to play it inside to Yaya, but what can you say, its a phenomenal strike, hit with effortless precision that seems to generate power as well as accuracy.

I can't say Piccs was wrong, but what is best of all is that we are debating two exceptional City goals on a day we won the league cup for the first time in 38 years!!!!!

At the time I simply thought Nasri had twatted in a corker. Saw it on the big screens and Sammy had nothin to aim at, no shot at all, but he hits it with the outside of the boot bending it superbly. I've never been a big fan of The French Duke, but that was stunning.

Nasri's was great skill, but Yaya's was great skill & 30 yards out.

It was incredible precision & power, & imo one of the best goals by anyone, ever.
