Should we sack him or just hurl abuse at him for the remainder of his tenure?

Thats actualy a very good point, its a slip of the tongue at best but they dont get much bigger for a bloody manager of a team that has rivalry between fans like ours. At no point did I or would go as far as saying the fans should turn on the manager but I am amazed the the press didnt make more of it, after all if you believe half the comments on this forum alone the press are all out to get us and love everything about the rags so why didn't they?

He's done two very stupid things now - the Bayern 'how many goals did we need?' incident and now this. They're both incredibly stupid. It's the kind of slips of the tongue in an equivalent high end business world that'd be seen as very, very embarrassing. I'm almost certain that something will have been said to him as a result of both. Our owners are trying to build a worldwide brand and little slips like this don't help us at all - It just weakens our brand a little and gives potential investors a very valid arguing point that perhaps subconsciously we're still not the main Manchester 'brand' - even our own manager got that wrong ffs - thus potentially decreasing value worth and investment amounts. Little things like that can sway things.

I think we should forgive him and get on with it, but it is pathetic and it shouldn't happen.

I agree completely ... the whole not knowing the math at Bayern frustrated me big time ... and everyone here said oh ffs we just won at Bayern away so nothing else matters ... same now, oh, we just won capital one cup and these guys are talking about a slip of a tongue ...

Imagine Moyes saying he's managing Manchester City ... fucking hell.

But I don't agree that media hasn't made a meal of it ... I have been fucking pissed off as very hour or so later a new tweet posted up on my timeline from a completely new source who'd done the 'story' on this and embedded the video ... Telegraph, MEN, Sun, ESPN, BBC ... all have done this ... only Sky hasn't and that's probably because they can't play the video clip as it's not theirs ...

Anyway, it's these little things that are annoying about Pelligrini ... hope he sorts them out ... guess it doesn't bother a lot or should I say most but they probably cuz they are not as anal retentive as me ... (I wasn't going to get away with calling myself a perfectionist here now was I?) ... let's just call it my OCD ... but it is annoying as hell ... so no you are not alone ... I guess I didn't comment earlier as I learnt my lesson from that Bayern incident ... no point playing a guitar in front of a cow!

PS. I only hope he (or someone else) works out all the possible score lines we need at Barca game ...

It was fuckign unacceptable and he should be reminded that its the first and last time it happens.

I'm also annoyed at it but am trying not to bite to the 10 fucking texts I've received from scum fans over the last 24 hrs.

This ...

... pisses me more than the original slip perhaps!

Who cares if Pellegrini didn't know the permutations to top the group ... we just won Bayern away ... all-over-again!

This might sound mad. But I saw that interview originally and really don't recall hearing that. Only when this ONE clip surfaced was anything said about it and that was later on last night. Dare I say some clever editing might have been done by someone?

Does anyone really believe that Pellegrini was thinking about the rags.. thinks he manages the rags? No chance.

Like it or not we're a business and our owners will care a lot. A whole fucking lot. Personally it doesn't affect me, but ya know, i'm not the one trying to make our club the biggest in the world.

And now we won't be the biggest club in the world?

Leave it to the rags to use it and try and take the shine off winning another major trophy.

An unfortunate slip of the tongue will not harm our quest for global dominance, no more than it did when garry cook said it.

He is human. He is paid to win trophies using an attractive brand of football and as long as he continues to achieve that, then we can leave the global dominance up to the global dominance people.

I find it mildly irritating at worst.

A lot of people (rightly in my view) jumped on Garry Cook when he did it, me included. I can let it slide this time because he had just won us the League Cup, which Garry Cook did not, and it was an emotional moment for him and for us. However it should not have happened and if it happens again, he can fuck off.

That does not mean I am dissatisfied with his overall contribution to the club, because I am. Very much so. But this kind of stupid thing transcends how good a job you are doing. You wouldn't get the boss of GlaxoSmithKline saying on national television how much he enjoys working for Johnson & Johnson.

meh. Look at our shiny trophy. Pellers can say what he likes, as long as the engraver gets the team name correct.

He just masterminded our first League Cup win in decades - he can call us Shirley if he wants.

It just makes it harder in the short term, undoubtedly. It won't live for us forever, as things like this don't, but they do irritate at the time and it'd definitely have irked them in the boardroom.

As i said, im not bothered personally, but its definitely a bit amateur and shouldn't happen.
