End Of The Season?

Postby Beefymcfc » Sun Mar 09, 2014 6:08 pm

Remembering that we've already won a cup, it this realistcally the end of our season?

Three games in hand, three wins and we're back top. The two halves of the Demichelis show have put paid to the FA Cup and Champions League, so Chelsea will likely play when we won't.

In 2012 it was 8 points was 6 games left. Chelsea's efficiency won't hold for the rest of the season, they'll dip.

I had the PL as the priority this season and I reckon we've got a chance of doing it but our away games may take their toll.

After today I'll worry about the home games just as much as the away games. do the lads give a shit? yes -> we get a result. no -> we don't.

No. Is it fuck the end of the season. For a start, third place and automatic entry in Champs league has not been secured.

Although unlikely, and on todays showing impossible, we still play Barca on Wednesday with an outside shot. If nothing else we gain experience.

12 games left in Prem. As said, secure third and go for it. If we come up short, bed one or two young lads in last couple of games. If we slide between now and the end of season it could be disastrous for next season as often the teams who finish poorly, start poorly next time around.

We still have to go to some tough places. Lets show them what we are about and make whoever wins the Prem, if it is not to be us, work for it. Giving it to the rags last year was unforgiveable and was probably a big factor in Mancinis departure.

So, draw a line under today and start over, starting Wednesday. It's all we can do

It's all down to what the manager gets from the team. Although I thought the selection was wrong today, the fact that we've just won a cup and have Barca coming up might have played a part in todays game.

I like it, good man. One thing that has to be drawn is that we've still not qualified and need to ensure we don't slip up. The CL is everything for us at the moment so either a good win against Barca, and further, or ensuring at least a 3rd place spot is a must.

My problems is more on what happend after the 5-1 at Spurs, that was the moment when our house of cards went to shite, at a moment when finally Hansen, Hansen ffs called us the best in the world.

Did our players got the sensation that they only need to start a game? The rest will come?

Mind that we won't win with this attitude at Scum and Arse and we will be murdered at Scouse.

The fact Pellers played that side today it tells me he fancies beating barca. If and it's a huge if then I think it'll be the spring board for the rest of the season.

I can't get my head around this fucking possibility ...

Premier League Champions: Chelsea
FA Cup Winners: Arsenal
League Cup Winners: City

Fucking hell ... it better not end that way ... We better take the league now and Arsenal better not win a trophy, although who's left with them? A league 1 side, a championship side, and a promoted club ...

Oh well, there's always Wednesday ...

We've got the wrong mindset at the moment, it needs to change. Maureen says we're the favourites to keep the heat off them yet our own attitude seems to be that we don't even have to try.

It was quite evident today that once the changes came on that we forced the game and made Wigan look uncomfy. Why was that though, why unleash good players after the game has gone? Milner is a player that makes me smile, he works his bollox off and has skill to go with it yet Manuel seems to think he is a second, even against Wigan.

Sorry to be negativ but if Demichalis keeps getting in the team i think we have no chance. Chelsea are too solid. We are far more likely to drop daft points than them.

Wheels have been coming off since Spurs game. Out of form strikers from injuries. We look like a team running on empty. Reminds me of same stage before we got knocked out of Europa league and went on to win FA Cup. Less games has to be a blessing
