The goal drought is really bizarre. Negredo looks as bad as Soldado now.

Frankly, I don't see anything wrong with the side Pellegrini put out there today. Those players should've been up for it and shouldve won

Lescott was solid again. Proved that he should start again.

Garcia was doing very well in his role besides getting skinned in the 1st half and his brain fart pass later in the game.

Milner put in good effort but was forcing too many balls to the strikers that usually resulted in us losing possession.

Nasri played well but went back to his old habit once or twice of dwelling on the ball too long. Also seemed that Nasri, Silva, and Aguero were only passing to one another and ignoring teammates in better positions.

Dzeko did much better than Negredo by being in the right place to score goals, but was severely lacking when it came to finishing. One miss a game is ok. But missing the target on 2-3 great chances is not very good at all.

Serio did ok and had a few nice moves, but tried to run through 3-4 players too often when there were better options available.

Negredo needs his potion to go back to being Hyde instead of Jekyll.

Can't win 'em all and roll on barca though. Should be a cracking match, especially with Fernandinho having a boost of confidence from his mid-week performance.

Fairly spot on. Especially about Aguero trying to do it all himself on too many occasions.
We do have a striking dilemma at the moment. Dzeko is getting in the positions but is missing everything whereas Negredo is just hiding and not getting involved.

yeah i thought garcia did well too. he's been much better as the season has wore on.

lescott did pretty well, except for that shite header that gave away the 2nd goal.

we missed fernandinho i think.

Add to the above, Demi ordering Richards back during the 2nd half while we were in possession, he had loads of space on the right but Demi couldn't handle their #32 and shat himself so had to have Micah back with him - ended up him, Demi and Garcia held back to defend one player - fucking joke of a defender Demi - should have retired last year and saved us all the fucking embarrassment!

Congratulations to Uwe - chuffed for him he's getting to Wembley, cant stand wigan though, and DW is a toss pot - but Uwe worked us a treat and got a but of luck too.

Making changes was always going to happen especially when a few are playing with injury niggles. But how Milner still doesn't get a game with all the changes just baffles me.He hadn't done any travelling and virtually didn't play so I thought he was a guarantee.

I would have made him captain and left out Yaya.We put out a totally 2nd string back line and it showed.Lescott was the only one who seemed to remember what good defending is all about.

Totally agree. I cannot understand the managers thinking. It amazes me that the players seem to like MP. I think Milner, Lescott and Barry have been treated very poorly. They were important in our title season and yet Demichelis can be worse than awful but gets picked. Simply baffling.

Unforgivable, just unforgivable. An FA Cup Quarter Finals and her rests our 3 most influential players. I mean seriously wtf was that about ?was it to save the defensive players for a defensive performance at the Nou Camp. I am not joking, I just don't get it at all. It would have made more sense to rest the strikers if we are going down that road seeing as we need 3 goals to go through at Barcelona. For me it is all but a dead rubber, there's more chance off getting twatted 5,6-0 than getting anything there. We have had a glorious opportunity to lift another Cup blown by the senile old cunt pissing about with our side. What a fucking idiot changing the entire back 4 leaving just Martin The Oil Tanker as the regular. Paddy Power called it right "With Demichellis playing Wigan have a chance", this Clown has single handidly fucked up our entire season, every fucking match he is turned inside out and either gets a straight red or gives a penalty. The Media and the forums are all taking the piss at the inability of our manager to see how fucking shit he is, he really is making us a laughing stock.

He perseveres with his 4-4-2 regardless off the personnel available. Makes no sense to me. He is looking like a one trick pony. if this one trick pony doesn't sort our now very worryingly shite performances he will be ridden in to the sun set by Martin Demichellis.

Well that was 70 disappointing minutes, followed by a good but too-late rally.

A lot of people on the radio phone-in on the way home were saying that the team selection was saving people for Barca; I thought that was true for Kompany and Silva, but Fernandinho and Zabba played the full 90 minutes and travelled for their countries, so I think maybe they needed the rest anyway.

The other thing a lot of callers said was we should start off with the first eleven and bring people off when we are ahead. I’m not sure about that. What if we are still level or behind after 60 minutes with top men on? Then you have no choice but to overplay them. We should be able to rest four players (five if you include Joe) and play better than that. Just shows the squad is not so deep.

We’re really struggling up front: unlike the last time he came back from injury Sergio looks off the pace, Dzeko and Negredo have lost the scoring knack and Jovetic obviously still out – yet in others circumstances you would be hard pushed to find a better four. Odd and unlucky they have all lost it together.

As we are out of the cups, Panti might have played his last game for us now if he goes in the summer.

Well, at least the fixture congestion won’t get any worse.

That's Arsenal's trophy drought over, then!

We've been in a promising situation before and totally blundered. The semi-finals of the Carling Cup in 2011 involved ourselves, your lot, Birmingham City and Ipswich. One team from the Championship, two teams fighting for survival in the Premiership and one team flying high. That trophy was destined for Arsenal (wasn't it?)

We've also played Wigan in the semi-final of a domestic cup before (the rest is history)

Not to mention 1980 (and all that..)

I remember when Keegan first came in the after season video they made when he was reflecting back he said that in one of the early matches he chose a few fringe/backup players and we lost and the performances were crap to say the least. He said at that point he realised some of them didn't deserve a chance and wouldn't be getting one again unless they proved it to him.

Gael is absolute garbage. He should be made to sit on the bench until he decides to be the decent player he was.

Micah should go become a fuckin cage fighter or something because he's no footballer.

Demi.....we've wasted enough of our time talking about this guy. If Pellers carries on playing him ultimately it'll end up costing him his job. So if that's what he wants so be it.

Dzeko just literally could not give a fuck anymore. He's even lazier than Adebayor ever was.

The only fringe player who puts in a shift and shows they want it and deserve the chance is Milner. Why he doesn't start more matches is beyond me!

We weren't in the semis then.

If more Arse fans were like you I'd wish you good luck but tbh I want your trophy drought to continue. But surely after this it will happen. Esp.after Jose's comments

Cliche wasn't too bad today, better defender than Kola but his crosses (or attempts at them) are dire! Had a tough job today with three low-table defenders alongside him, one of then should be in a retirement home.

Dzeko missed gilt edged chances and did pit himself about when he came on - he was better than the Beast today.

Milner has had chances to start and has messed then up, when he comes on as sub he's flying - why? I don't know and its frustrating!

Richards didn't know what he was supposed ti do today, most of the time he was stuck on wether to go forward or stay back - at one stage ended up arguing as Demi told him to stay back, Yaya told him go forward and he looked at Pellers and threw his arms in the air!

Roll on Barca...

Couldn't agree more on James Milner. If Im Milner then Im off in the summer as he has been chronically underused by both Mancini and now Pellegrini; quite what the guy has to do to get a start is beyond me, especially with Demichelis continually being a liability but being selected no matter what.

And I brought two old friends to finally get them to a football game ... one flew in from Dubai and other drove up from Surrey ... talked non-stop about City in our 4 hrs drive up north and had them totally memorise City chants and what not ... and then in the half time they both turned around and said to me, sorry but your team is shit ... and I guess by the end of the game where I was hoping to add two newest City fans, they have gone back probably considering Wigan might not be a bad team to look up more on ...
