Now i'm no scientist or brilliant scholar but what's with all this fancy fucking free kick business?Yaya has proved all season that he can take a mean free kick but all of a sudden we are trying fancy fucking little passes and it just isn't working.Get back to shooting from the kick please.

Can't really recall a situation where a shot was the obvious choice, but one of the many things that had me scratching my head was the decision to send Lescott and Richards forward and then play a short ground pass to the first available Wigan defender

I think we look tactically stupid at dead ball situation I wondered at times if we had any intention of winning but the rally at the end suggested we did. The free kick situation suggested we did nt.

Agreed. We are trying to be too clever. Either shoot or cross it in. The main thing about these planned routine free kicks is that they are meant to bring an element of surprise and catch the opposition unaware. However when we try it nearly every free kick, the element of surprise goes.

Back to basics please.

The one I think it was Silva took at the death, had me almost shouting abuse at the players, something I never do.

It just needed an instant short pass to keep the football flowing & keep the pressure on Wigan. Instead, with the clock running down, they stood talking for a bit & decided that the best option was for Silva to chip the ball over everybody's heads for a goal kick.

Joey fucking Barton.

Also, when will we see inswinging corners? They're so much more dangerous and only need a glance to go in whereas an outswinger needs a firm and accurate header.

Failure to execute was the issue yesterday. With hardly any left footers available to take a corner (think Clichy took one because nobody else could be arsed to go over for it) Nasri stepped up to potentially hit inswingers but hit the first man numerous times instead. This has been a failing in previous games though, notably Chelsea in the league when we had a ton of corners with no reward.

I really dont understand the mentality from corners, we know the taker rarely gets past the first man, then we should make the first man a fucking city player. Does my head in.
