I've always wonder how Abramovitch has stayed alive and thriving when all the Yeltsin era so called Oligarchs were either jailed by Putin and their property confiscated (Khodorvsky) or went into exile and later died under suspicious circumstances (can't remember the name of the guy who allegedly committed suicide in his bathroom in London). The ones who are still standing like Abramovitch must have made some sweet deal with Putin. So I wouldn't be surprised if he is targeted unless it's bad for the City and then of course Cameron won't have none of it !!

Isn't it the reason he bought Chelsea. I'd never heard of the other guys before Puty topped them off. Ambrahovitch became world famous when bought Chelsea. I think Frank was thinking the same thing when he bought us but his pockets were not deep enough to last anymore than a season.
I am not sure I would exchange all the money he has for being on Russian hit list. You never know when they are going to get you.

I think the people of Berwick are gearing up for an attack over Ukraine after all the legend says they are still at war with Russia

It would make a 'ripping yarn' if it could be proven to be undeniably true.
If so, Putin would probably now be cowering in his nuclear bunker fearful of obdurate retaliation from these hardy borderers.

My feeling on Putin is that, horrible fecker that he is, he may be needed to do some dirty work if the Muslim fundamentalist problem gets out of control and the West shows a lack of appetite.

Well Kerry has accused the USSR v2 of a land grab, I wonder when they will sanction Israelis? Could wipe the deficit out with that one!
