*** Summer Transfer Speculations ***

Postby AG7 » Thu Mar 20, 2014 11:10 pm

Too many threads popping up on their own discussing essentially the same thing, Luke Shaw, Victor Valdes and now Prospects (Mangala) etc ...

Let's all dump them here in one place ... this is not the official summer window thread, but let's say the buildup to that ... as inevitably from now till the end of season lots of these will be thrown around ...

Anybody seen Marca's article on how Trixi has already agreed terms with Suarez to join us this summer?

Text of that Suarez article:

Word on the street has it that Liverpool forward Luis Suárez will soon be wearing the Manchester City shirt. Apparently, Txiki Beriguistain, the Mancunian club's sports director, has already contacted the player and an agreement has been reached between the two parties for the next season.

The Uruguayan is presently playing the best season in his entire career at Anfield. Having scored 25 goals so far, he is the Premier's top goalscorer. If he were to join City, it would mean the leaving of one of the club's current strikers, as the club's attack is populated with players of too high a quality for lowly bench-warming duties.

It would be madness to get rid of Kun, the centrepiece of The Citizens' attack and darling of the City faithful. Less important is Álvaro Negredo, especially after his criticised substitution in the return leg of the Champions League against Barça. Whatever the decision taken, it looks like the Premier is in for big reshuffle this summer.

I think the rumours are reasonably well contained on this site, e.g. in Chinners' bollox and the Twitter cage. Some potential transfers probably do deserve a better discussion as otherwise it could get lost in a 'rumours' thread. Luke Shaw, for example, is probably going to be in high demand from a range of top clubs in the summer, and there's a good chance we're one of them. Based on that, he is a good discussion topic for the board.

Ragarding Mangala, i've watched him carefully last night to see how we can handle the pressure at Napoli.

In the first half he was clueless, the Porto manager used him in a weird rotation with Sandro Alex, from center back to left back. In the second half, when he was used just as a defender, he was as good as Vinnie in his good days.

Another plus for me is that Mangala plays as a center back on the left side and he can be perfect with Vinnie. My concern is, i have no idea who is the real Mangala, the sloppy one or the perfect one from the second half.

Regarding the diver, i would have him in a heartbeat. Maybe he is a cunt, but so was Carlos and we all loved him on the field because he gave 200 %. Suarez has something that Sergio doesn't have, the ability not to get injured every weekend.

I must admit i did not watch Mangala so i can't compare him but Benatia would be my choice .He is absolutely dominate in Seria A .He seal Roma defense this season, quick , strong, great headers , scoring goals ( he score 5) Barcelona track him ,but then again i said i did not see Mangala so i can't compare.
You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline. It helps if you have some kind of a football team, or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a beer.
