Prospective targets played tonight

Mangala looked solid used the ball well, brave, good positional sense, left sided. Looked an ideal partner for Vinny. Fernando provided good cover for his back 4, always looking to find space to receive the ball. Didn't venture forward much. Very similar to Ferna and could play alongside him releasing Yaya to go forward. Moreno looked impressive with pace going forward & a better crosser than Clichy. Probably a better defender than our two. Could be a better & cheaper option to Shaw

I watched the game to check these players out and would agree with all your comments

I was particularly impressed with Mangala - what a partnership he would make with Vinny - you could have thought that it was Vinny - football brain as well

Mangala, very good, Fernando again You can see why we want him, I also thought Porto will have provided us with a great example of how to cope on a big night away from home in Europe, Brilliant away performance and one we can learn from.

Still not seen much of Managala but the bits I have seen he looks fast & with a good leap on him. If he also has the qualities you lot suggest then he sounds absolutely ideal for the job.

It is worth paying over the odds if we do find the right man imo. The benefit to the squad would be huge & would pay for itself in the long term.

I can't help feeling we made a mistake not paying up for Mangala there'll be huge competition from PSG and others after the World Cup so we've probably lost him now.

Sadly, I think you're probably right, particularly if it came to a bidding war between PSG and ourselves, since the Fat Frenchman will obviously find some spurious way to virtually exempt his own countrymen from FFP and there will be no viable constraints as to how much they can then spend.

We, on the other hand, are already targeted and we'll have to tread more than carefully in such matters.

the question is, if we go for him/get him,

why the FUCK did we not do it in jan?

they will still rape us on the fee, and we will have more competition.

I said it at the start of the season, and then lots in jan. A CB and CM makes a difference between 1 and 3 cups.

not buying him cost us the fa cup, argueably the champs league and potentially the league..
