Well that's gone tits up I had city to win 5-0 at corals the cashier put odds of 100/1 on it, been to collect my winnings and she reckons she put 100/1 on by mistake and the correct odds was 14/1 so I've got 15 poxy quid back.

Does anyone know what the odds for city winning today 5-0 was?

No chance. She's trying to pull a fast one. Standard practice for a scumbag bookie. Nobody writes 100-1 when they meant 14-1.

Go to the manager, if not, go to head office. Do not under any circumstances let the bastards get away with it. They make millions and are trying to screw you out of a poxy £86.

If you don't get any joy, just stand outside the shop for a while, telling anyone who'll listen how they tried to steal from you. Go to the local paper if you have to. Photo of the slip, sob story, you know the kind of thing.

And if there's a point when you think "fuck it, it's only money" ask yourself if they'd have given you 100-1 if they'd written 14-1 by mistake.

I have a picture of the slip with 100/1 circled and initialled and also a receipt for the 14/1 received I have sent them both to corals email demanding my money, no joy and i will plaster them all over social media and like you say stand outside the shop, I was in shock when I only got 15 quid back but now I'm foaming.

Was city to beat Fulham 5-0 only 14/1?

They're in breach of the "Consumer Protection From Unfair Trading Regulations 2008" and if they don't settle your bet you could probably sue - is the Small Claims Court still going these days? If you don't get the answer you want, make an appointment at the Citizen's Advice Bureau, they have experts in various fields to give free impartial (and very helpful) advice.

I think this is standard from bookies, I don't think they will pay it out, seen it happen loads of times. See who gives them their license and contact them might have more joy but I think it's a longshot.

I would have been surprised at 100/1.
I've never been in a betting shop - I know, I know - but if the ticket says 100/1 presumably they're legally obliged to honour those odds
(I know big organisations would have all kinds of exclusions posted up - yadda, yadda)

As a follow up to my first post, this is called "palpable error", effectively a get-out clause for bookies. Legally they're fine, but morally you have a very strong case.

Kick up a fuss and make sure they're aware that the girl wrote 100-1 on there, not you. (If you'd written it then no chance, people try that a lot and when a cashier is translating a few hundred slips every day mistakes happen).

Don't be threatening, just keep at it until they pay.

Agreed. Who were the commentators?

One of them was a former Fulham player, dunno who though. They talked about our english players saying that finally they can see a City full of english players. How many does Chelsea have in their first eleven?

Twats.

Not sure if you had the same commentary as me (2 English chaps, with half time analysis by Americans - one of whom looked like the stereotypical "washed up high school (American) football star" that you see in shitty teen movies), but mine was probably the most blatantly anti-City I've ever heard. I'm not one of those who bemoans bias in commentary and media like an outraged Daily Mail reader on here, but this time it really was appalling.

The 2 commentators for the NBC Extra Time coverage of today's match were Daniel Mann and ex-Fulham player, Tony Gale. After playing 277 matches for Fulham, Tony Gale made it blatantly clear that he was hoping for City to lose! Thanks to some beautiful goals by City, Tony Gale's day was deservedly ruined! To somewhat make up for such biased commentary today, NBC will at least be featuring City in a half-hour show called "Premier League 36," which will show behind-the-scenes footage of the team and staff... It airs on NBC Sports Network on Sunday, March 23rd, at 3:30-4 PM E.S.T (7:30 PM UK Time) It's great that City is featured on both BBC's "Football Focus" and NBC in the same weekend.

Let's hope that Yaya can replicate his 3rd wonder goal today and score it against United, on Tuesday! I also hope that City72 does rightfully get the 100/1 pay out that is owed to them, after all...

One with Coral, too - in the town I liven in in Wales, they never used to ask you for ID (to prove you were 18) to make a bet, but always used to ask you for it to collect your winnings.

Sadly they don't have to pay you at the 100/1 price. They have a safety cushion called "blatant errors" which get's them out of these situations. Disgraceful as it is, i find the bigger the company the less chance you have.

"We cannot allow for mistakes, nor accept responsibility for any errors or omissions in respect of the announcing, publishing, or marking of prices, runners, times or result, despite every effort to ensure their accuracy. We reserve the right to correct any obvious errors.
If there are any blatant errors in prices transmitted bets will be settled at the correct price at the time of acceptance or the Starting Price (where applicable) whichever is the greater. We also reserve the right to void any bets where there has been a blatant error in prices."

I suppose it is to be expected that as an ex-Fulham player, Tony Gale clearly admitted that he was hoping for an upset by Fulham. City had 3 very clear penalty shouts, but Tony Gale seemed too dismissive of all of them. David Stockdale had made 5 wonderful saves, so Tony Gale should just be glad it wasn't an even higher score for City. After Yaya's 3rd amazing goal, both Mann & Gale did finally give City plaudits for both the Hull win and today's victory. Fulham is now fighting for their Premier League survival, so I wasn't too surprised that their former player would be hoping for an upset.

To be fair, nothing is worse than the pathetically bad and biased commentary of Michael Owen... Thank goodness NBC hasn't hired him and we're spared from having to listen to him!

Tony Gale has it in for City no matter who we are playing, so any comments he made are just par for the course.

If interviewed on Sky about any subject regarding City, he usually picks out the negatives & manages to slip one or two barbed comments in. This is not his typical routine when talking about others, it is noticably, consistently worse re City. I would say 90% of everything I've ever heard him say about us is negative & I would rate him as possibly THE most 'anti City' pundit on the tv.

I have no idea why this is; I've tried to figure out what we did to him or his team(s) & when.

Re the game; very below par stuff from both players & crowd. Miserable, wet, cold, no atmosphere. Players eventually raised it, but 1st half was very similar to recent Sunderland, Wigan games. Yaya & Fern's goals were superb & Jovetic once again looked as good as our best players when he came on. He could be a big asset in the coming weeks.

We have a lot of lower end teams to play at home, & we need to understand that we have to actually beat them in order to win the title. Hopefully in another week or so, it will feel like a title run in, & we will play with the neccessary fervour, as yesterday felt like a mid table end of season game.

Beating rags & Arse will not do us any good if we can't beat Sunderland etc.

I'm gonna second this as I think HH is correct. It's to stop payouts with wrong prices so say for example if you had written 1 million to one on the bet slip and it had gone through then they won't pay out on that

Points gained, goals scored, players rested so most objectives achieved.

Problem we have is up top & glad to see Jovetic back. Negredo was bloody awful again yesterday & could hit the sea from a boat at the moment. We need Dzeko back on Tues as we have far far bigger tests ahead. Thought we were avergae yesterday at best but am hoping it was simply a case of us playing within ourselves. Play like that on Tues and next Sunday and our title challenge will go down the shitter.
