That's very sweet. Perhaps if you ask now you might be able to get her a place as a mascot next season?

It really is great and does make a huge difference for those kids who aren't having the best of times. I posted a few weeks ago saying that they had done something similar for my nephew, to see them enjoying the day so much is amazing. Long may the good work continue by the staff at city.

Could she be a mascot at one of our games?

Fantastic from our club and I hope the little girl's day made her feel a lot better.

I contacted City, with help from Slim, to see if she could be a mascot for a forthcoming game as she has been through a particularly bad time in the last 6 months and really could do with a boost. A very nice lady called Sarah replied to say that it wouldn't be possible for Kira to be mascot this season but invited her to the match yesterday.

We went pitch-side before the game and had photographs taken, Kira also got to sit on Pellegrini's seat in the dugout and couldn't believe she was able to walk down the players tunnel towards the hallowed turf. We were escorted around by Mike Summerbee, I am pretty sure Kira didn't know who he was but Mike was brilliant with her.

Sarah then gave us complimentary tickets in the Colin Bell Stand, and the team finished off Kira's special afternoon with a great win.

City made Kira a very happy girl yesterday and I am sure it will give her a much needed boost in her struggle to get well. They also made me even more proud of our club.

Thank you City.

Our love that our club still does stuff like this ... fecking superb!

Thanks for all your messages.

I have to contact the club again in July regarding being a mascot next season. I have already written tin email and set it to go on 1 July as I would forget otherwise!

Dazby, I have been on the stadium tour a couple of times and can recommend it, this was the first time Kira had been in the tunnel, dugout etc though.

WW we turned down the free tickets so Kira's brother (currently a Sheff Wednesday fan but I am working on it) could use them. So we were in our usual seats.

SoF I didn't realise you had mascots to be honest. We want to try and get to a women's game so that could be an option. Thanks for the idea.

One thing to keep in mind is how Slim got Joe to be Mascot at Bristol City. as its a cup game they only allocated mascots because they never know who, where, or even if, we will be in the next round.

Good work on the seats, even at 5-0 you would have grumbled at being sat in the MUTE section :-)

There's a joke in there about the Swans but I'm too lazy to form it.
