Strange Clichy don't get a mention, what more can be wanted from a left back?
Fast, good passer, stopped play several times.
He was fantastic yesterday.

I went for Dzeko...but it could literally have been 5 or 6 others.

Ferna - Solid again, what we have been missing since Nige left
Silva - What a player, I swear the ball is attached to his left peg
Toure - Once again put in a huge performance in a big game
MDM - Thought he did brilliantly tonight. He was clearly targeted by the Scum forward line
Zaba - That bloke is a machine
Clichy - As mentioned above, he did really well last night, looked to be completely out of juice towards the end though

All in all, cracking performance all round!
"If we fire our manager after just one bad season - We'll become Chelsea"
"If we think we can fix the problem by buying expensive players - We'll become City"
"If we remember the good times to entertain us during the bad times - We'll become Liverpool"

So, keep calm and do it the United way

"We invest in young players, That is what we are good at — we’re not like other clubs who can spend fortunes on proven goods. We know that Manchester City are going to pay stupid money, pay silly salaries and all that. We can’t do anything about it. We concentrate on what we can do to try to bring players in for the right reasons. We invest in those who will be with the club for a long time, who will create the character of the club, who will create excitement for our fans. We are very proud of that and we are going to continue that way" - Alex Ferguson 14th May 2012

No competition for me. Edin did what we needed him to do...................banges the ball into the onion bag and was unlucky to not get his hat trick. Take a bow son!

Went for Silva, however Fern was immense at sweeping up, but I do recall a few passes that he put astray just before them. Which just edges Silva for me as nobody could get near him.

Silva, with nods of acknowledgement to Ferna and Edin as well.

All 14 did the club proud, but those there shone brightest.

Merlin. The best player ive ever seen in a city shirt.

I also think he is one of the best players in the world. Hes as every bit as good as iniesta for me. im sure many will disagree. He is a sublime footballer.

Had to be Silva. Nearly gave it to Demichelkis again for other factors.

Dzeko still had us all screaming at the telly a few times between his goals, so he would've had to score about 4!

Wtf a motm poll where every player gets a nod but komps? Wow. I think hart was excellent last night with silva, yaya, dzeko, fernandinho etc. A great performance but for me zaba was unbelievably hard.

My only gripe is that his distribution going forward often stopped our momentum, but he did have a good game

I've gone for that bloke that was wearing Edin's shirt, he led the line brilliantly, can we keep him?

Zaba - man of IRON

Honourable mentions - Dave (Silva that is), Yaya, Ed, . . . oh, and Stupidly too (. . . can anyone remember him actually touching the ball?)

Vinny - great defence , but you blew it with a silly yellow

I went for nasri too, his work rate in midfield was incredible, as was his distribution. Slightly surprised to see Merlin getting this by a landslide, as I thought Nasri was every bit as good, and arguably more effective with the ball going forwards when it counted.

my thoughts exactly re: Silva

Silva for me. If he continues in this form we should stroll the league. His performance against Hull was unbelievably good. Last night he was close to that level again. When he plays like that those around him feed off his drive and commitment. Edin and Zabba were quality also but Dave is "liquid football". I would like him poured into a glass which I would sip in a large leather chair next to a roaring fire watching re-runs of Derby victories with a smug smile on my face.

Just watched a re run of the game and it hasn't changed my mind and although there were several good performances my vote goes to Merlin. The drag back from Ya Ya, which led to the opener, and the take down from Hart's clearance were worth the entrance money alone, but if you look at how often he is in the frame from the TV coverage, the amount of ground he covered last night was phenomenal. His ability to see and create space for himself is unreal.

Other mentions go to
.
Fernandinho. Has really become a class act for us of late and after a quiet start to the season is now showing us why we paid 30 odd million for him.

Nasri- One of the most improved players of the season his running and harrassing and chasing lost causes last night was brilliant.

Edin-- Didn't come across particuarly well from the Television but his running and chasing last night was unrecognisable, by far the hardest I have seen him work and a brace to boot as well. Fantastic.

Joe-- Good to see his distribution improving but still needs a bit of work, but was really pleased to see that his confidence in coming for crosses is strengthening and although he didn't have a lot to do another clean sheet and an instinctive save from Wellbecks drag back.

Demi-- You can see what Pellers sees in him a bit more now, and although he doesn't instill total confidence ( he had a particular spell last night where he gave the ball away twice and then stepped out when he should have been stepping in) he's had two or three good games on the trot. Think his vision is pretty good and makes up slightly for his lack of speed and his ability on the ball is slightly less panicky then Jolean's. The jump tackle on Rafael was possibly a high light.

Zabba-- After having his head and leg removed by Wellbeck and Fellaini. Had his usual solid performance, what a rock.

Vinnie -- What can you say, True leader.

Vinnie and Zabba. The arm pumping in front of the away fans at the end of the game, was truely inspiring!!!!! Got the old heart pumping a bit, they're deffo up for the fight.

THE FANS-----Quality! Simply the best!!!!!

There was a point when Silva was way on the other side of the pitch to Yaya and Nasri, I thought he might be going through separation anxiety being that far away from his other musketeers. Those three in close proximity to each other are just so deadly, you know they will wait and wait and then just turn on the pace and tear through any defence.

On this special occasion, I was hoping that there would be an option to select the entire team as Men of the Match! They all pulled together, to work as a single entity to defeat United! So, I'd select the entire City team for their incredible work! I only wish that RT had photo access to this match, so that @KippaxBlue could have shared some lovely photos to commemorate this wonderful event with us!

Overheard 2 rags today and the gobshites insinuated that zabba (man of steel) must be a real obnoxious bugger (or words to this effect)
And therefore deserving of their star men targeting him !!!
I just shook my head in acknowledgement of their pitiful jealousy .

The fact there are justifiable claims for so many individuals confirms what a fantastic team effort that was and we can be rightly proud of them all, including pel and his team.

Guess we all have our reasons for picking who we thought was our MoTM, but for me I went for Zabadabadoo. What commitment to the cause, paricularly as I feel he was singled out by the scum for some rough treatment. Despite all the shit he took from those twats, he took it like the professional he is. Many would have got into a brawl with the bog brush for that WWE manouvre he put on him. Would have been great to see Zabs pick himself up after that, dust himself down and stre and smile at him, the brush would have then shit himself good and proper.

Don't know if its just me, but I see a new cammerarderie building with this squad over the last month or so.

Same again on Sat please lads
