Best & Worst signing of the season

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Best & Worst signing of the season

Postby Biamp » Thu Apr 03, 2014 7:09 am

It's this time of the season.

BEST: Negredo, Fernandinho, James McCarthy, Romelu Lukaku, Loic Remy, Eriksen, Dejan Lovren.
WORST: Arouna Kone, Derek Boateng, Iago Aspas, Marouane Fellaini, Osvaldo, Jozy Altidore.

Not to mention the Spurs end of business probably the worst since the Sven era ;)

Have I missed anyone?

Negredo could prob fall into both categories, pre-Carling cup semi he was best, since he has been the worse. We really need him to get his act together.

Tottenham signed some amount of duds in the summer and Everton made some great signings.

Best-Fernandinho(if we win the league), Barry

Worse- Lamela by a mile. £30m for this guy and he has been like a poor mans nery castillo which is saying something.
derby day the scores were level,
then the goat was fed by neville,
silly boy should know for sure,
feed the goat and he will score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Spot on. Negerdo has looked a shadow of himself since he picked that shoulder injury.

mine is not the worst because there are quite a few who fall in the worst one, but mine is Navas as he is so frustrating to me, he gets the ball on the wing and goes forward and then what, he bloody stops until another defender comes towards him.so now he has lost his pace to go pass A defender and now waits for zab to go pass him to pass to him, WHY does he not just pass one defender and then see what to do as put a decent cross into the pen box or cut inside to pass to someone.

So let's get this straight... you accept he isn't the worst but are nominating him as the worst?

Strangely, although Barry may have been a useful signing for Sciuse 2, it has been a masterstroke to move him on, for us. The injection of pace into the middle of our side has been a massive factor in turning around our turgid pedestrian performances of last season. You wouldn't have him back in place of Fernandinho now.
Negredo now looks like Soldado's slightly shitter brother.

Not a masterstroke at all regarding Barry, he should have been kept as a squad player in the centre of the park as we have had to over play Yaya Toure and Fernandinho at times.

Oddly enough I think Soldado in our team would be a massive hit.He has great pace something Dzeko and Negredo lack.

Getting shut of Barry altered the whole dynamic and speed of the team. There would have been no place for him in this style of play. He did his thang for us and I'm glad he has found some success elsewhere.

Sad but true. He was like Shearer for the first half of the season and has been like Corradi since.
With absolutely nothing in between.
Baffling.

Worst has gotta be Osvaldo, Lamela, Altidore, and Mitroglu
