With absolutely nothing in between.
Baffling.

It's frustrating re Alvaro's form and Jesus has been hot and cold in some ways but both bring massive pluses to the squad and have shown their quality. Both will come good in a major way IMO

I agree completely.
Sometimes we just don't learn at all. Negredo has now been written off by some. Bizarre, because a full season lasts.... eh... a full season and he will should be judged at the end of his second one IMO.
Wilfried Bony has something like 15 goals in 23 games. He doesn't belong on the bad list !

I don't think anyone is writing him off as such. It's almost unfortunate for him that he's a victim of his early success. He came out the traps on fire this season and really looked like a world class player and took the league by storm. To the point where everyone was calling him signing of the season. He has looked rubbish recently. I know all players have bad spells, but the thing with him at the moment is that he just isn't getting involved in games. It's one thing to not have your shooting boots and miss chance after chance like Dzeko often does but Negredo has been hiding from games.
I certainly hope and expect that he will come good again.
Fernandinho on the other hand had a slowish start but looks like he is getting better and better every week. He's our signing of the season.
Navas has been okay. He had a great second quarter to the season and really started to come into his own but like Negredo has tailed off a little. He looks great when the other teams plays a high backline although at times though he does look a little one dimensional and sometimes clever defenders have sussed him out.

Original Dub wrote:Yes, he has had a very bad run of games over the last 6 or 7.
I remember Aguero having the same though. Nobody questioned his ability to bounce back. I'm just wondering why some are intimating that he can't be be relied upon in the run in, when he has had a lot more excellent games than shite ones in his career to date.
I've had this conversation multiple times - bad runs end in one game. Hopefully it's the next one, because they normally follow with a burst of goals.

Well I guess that's because Aguero has proven over a few seasons now that he really is world class and is a level above Negredo ( no disrespect to Negredo, Aguero is just that good.
When Aguero plays badly though he doesn't hide, he's always looking for the ball he just usually ends up missing.
As I've said I'm confident Negredo can come back from this. But with it being his first season in the Premier League, the jury is still out whether the Negredo from the first half of the season was the real Negredo or just one of those strikers who does well intially and then wonders off into obscurity and ends up playing for Fulham or Villa.

I take it you never saw Negredo before he came to City?
I'll ask again, did he hide against Fulham? Or when he came on against Arsenal?

No I hadn't seen Negredo when he came to City. But what he did in the Spanish league isn't hugely relevant. May I refer you to Soldado?
I didn't see the Fulham game unfortunately as I was away. I briefly saw highlights and saw him win the penalty and also miss from about three yards out later in the game. Against Arsenal he came on for about five minutes. I can't really recall him doing a great deal, nor would I expect him to in such a short time.
I'm not saying he won't get back to how he was, just that recently he's been poor.

What's his miss got to do with anything? You were the one defending Dzeko when he missed that sitter against Stroke saying that at least he's in the right place, same should apply to Negredo should it not?
Against Arsenal he created an opportunity for himself by muscling Metersacker off the ball, made a balls of it mind but the desire was there to make things happen.
He has turned the corner, that is evident from his last two appearances, the hunger is back, he now just needs the goal.

Six, if I've counted right.
