When the Saints go marching in

A bit of a mixed bag from the Saints fans this week. The general ( and intelligent) feeling is that this game is all about us, and what we need from the game, so nothing to lose. I can’t say that I disagree, it could be tricky, and I am glad it’s at our place. I even took the picture from their boards this week, it was taken 9 years ago - Rickie Lambert vs Joe Hart, Rochdale vs Shrewsbury in League 2...

Anyway, enjoy and COME ON CITY !!!

Team Selection
Boruc
Chambers
Fonte
Lovren
Shaw
Morgan
Cork
Lallana
Davis
J Rod
Lambert

My Favourite

Man City. Be afraid..........be very afraid. The Saints are coming

And the rest...

Its a nothing to lose game and they have a lot of pressure riding on them

I'd settle for a point now but I expect nowt from the game

This is a real test for Man City as we are playing with complete freedom and have weapons to open them up. Hoping for a score draw

Morgan should be back for this which is a massive boost, Lambert in better form now too. Hopefully we can come away with something, don't believe city are all they're made out to be

I think they will be to strong for us (no disgrace in that I reckon city have man for man the best team in the division). I went on a city forum to see what they were thinking about the game and was surprised how worried they seem to be about playing us (he refers to Bluemoon - CM )

I think this will be a big test for Saints. On the face of it, City have much more to play for than us but this may help us.

We can have a good go at them with little pressure on us to get a result. Let's be honest though, they have a cracking squad with some outstanding talent. Toure, Kompany,Negredo Dzeko, Aguero, Silva. And that's just scratching the surface

I hope we can play with the same style and intensity as on Saturday but against this City team that will be a tall order

I'll go for 8-1 to Saints

City need a win, so if we can keep them at bay for half hour then they might start getting anxious which will work in our favour, However I fully expect them to beat us, probably comfortably 3-1

Stupidly tough game, must-win for them, no pressure on us, no shame in a big defeat there, so hope we really go for it, give them a scare. We can score there, no doubt about that. Want to see JRod and Lallana running at Demichellas every few minutes, panic him.

Wanyama in if fit, otherwise Cork and Morgan with Davis, a good solid 3 that know their roles. Probably lose but might as well go there and enjoy it!

On paper the hardest game of the season.Let's go for it and see what happens

I actually expect us to win at City - but I also thought we would win at Spurs.

Can't wait to go back to the Etihad. One of the best games of my life up there last season.

Confident we can give them a real game again. Expecting some lovely football from both sides, and I think we'll do well on the ball.

We'll start strongly as always but in some ways I hope we don't score early on. City are the best in the league for getting their arses in gear from behind and we're the worst for giving up leads. Keep the ball, stay mentally strong and exploit space quickly and we might get something.

If we buck up at the back we have a chance, Citeh are weak at the back I feel.

Man City 1 Saints 2

Similar game to last season I reckon. We give it a go, give them a scare, and nearly, but not quite, get a result.

Amusing to see Man City 'fans' picking their preferred eleven and hardly noticing the irony of not a single Manchester player amongst them. Joe Hart, from Shrewsbury is likely to be the only English player in a team turning out in the shirts of what used to be an English football club and hardly even bothering to pretend that it still is. Message to Man City fans - you are supporting a foreign club with a foreign team, so why do its the results matter.....?.

Cork played Toure off the pitch last time around, we'll need him to be on it again if we are going to have any hope of a result. Morgan in for JWP, but otherwise same line-up as against the Toon. They have problems with our style of football (as evidenced in last three games) so I'm quietly confident of an upset. COYR!

God, they're going to be desperate for a win. If we concede it'll take stronger resolve than we've shown all season to deal with it and come out something

So Saints fans - the protectors of English footy and all things England eh? Wonder how they will see it when Shaw, Lallana and Rodriguez fook off for more money and bigger pastures within the next 12 months?

I did laugh at the "foreign club" comment - this coming from the team who's manager cant speak a word of English and conducts all his press conferences with the interpreter in tow. Irony clearly lost there.

They also have a whopping 9 English players in their 25 man squad compared to City's measly 6.

"City are weak at the back" is a bit strong. He's a couple of months out with that one. 2nd best defence now behind the Chavs and 1 conceded in the last 6 league games.
