Yaya's injury; any news ??

Postby Mikhail Chigorin » Fri Jul 29, 2011 12:40 pm

Apologies if this has been raised elsewhere, but is there any news on the injury Yaya sustained in the US.

Hope it's not more serious than was first thought.

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini fears key midfielder Yaya Toure could miss the final six fixtures of their Premier League title challenge.

City fell seven points behind Liverpool after a 3-2 defeat at Anfield, although they still have two games in hand, with Toure limping out of the action with only 19 minutes on the clock.

Pellegrini, who is waiting to discover the full extent of Toure's problem, admitted the Reds will deserve to be champions if they extend their 10-game winning streak to 14 in the coming weeks.

The Chilean told Sky Sports: "It's difficult for Yaya to be in the next game. We will see tomorrow, I don't know how serious he is injured.

"I think it will be difficult for him to finish playing this season.
I'm not really a City fan. I'm just here for attention.

It'd be nice if Milner was given a run in cent midf in Ya Ya's absence, though sadly this wont be the case as usual.

Milnet's been criminally under used at City & if I was him, Id be off in the summer Im afraid.

Brilliant !!
On topic, Pellers first says that we'll have to wait and sea and then with his next breath, Yaya's season is over !! Doesn't make a lot of sense.

my thoughts exactly. he will help make up for the loss we will suffer going forward. Fern proved today that he is better at being the further back of the two, not marauding forward.

Regardless.of when Ya Ya is fit, the point remains - Milner should be playing every week but never gets a fair shake.

agreed
'legs' are what we need in midfield for the next 6 games
we're at our best when we move the ball forward at speed and don't fuck about
unleash yaya off the bench if we need to for the last couple of games

Pellegrini says out for 10-14 days, which means he'd miss Sunderland, West Brom, and Palace.

Have you heard? Apparently Yaya's only out for two weeks *ducks and runs for cover*

Looking forward to seeing how Ferna gets on in the more advanced midfield role in Yaya's absence.

stupid Keylor Navas. hopefully its nothing serious.

if its not, giving him more time off will be great, given his tendency to lumber around from exhaustion.
although, no Delph, Toure, or Fernandinho vs. West Brom could make for an interesting midfield. Hell, Demichelis prob couldn't even fill in either.
