Performance is irrelevant. A win is imperative. It ain't going to be fun to watch.

I know that they hate us but they hate Liverpool even more so hopefully Everton roll over. They have no chance of getting the CL now and they would love it if Liverpool didn’t win the league as nobody is going to hear the end of it!

I also realised that I am going to be sitting in Faro airport the last day of the season with my flight taking off at 16.30. My wife also supports Liverpool so they will be some tension on that flight!

Martinez will be after the win regardless of what some Everton fans may fear. MP would do well to study last years FA cup final video. Martinez islikely to re-employ his successful tactics. Apparently Rosler used Martinez's notes for his FA cup win again this year.

Dunno why, I don't trust Samir in these games. I'd be inclined to start Garcia Milner and Fernandinho and push yaya on with dzeko and Aguero.

I like that as plan B, but Nasri is a must without Silva being available IMO

As much as I like Martinez, we have a favour to return to him.

However, previous encounters with Everton have left a sour taste in my mouth, so this match does worry me. We need to win this game.

Their fans will probably be up for it when they arrive at the ground; it's just what happens when you see the team come out, no matter what you think beforehand.

But, if we then play as we can & dominate the game, it will be easier to dampen the atmosphere than it would be in usual circumstances & the anti Liverpool feeling will soon creep back in.

What we don't want to do, is let them score first. If that happens it will be like sharks smelling blood & all the thoughts of not wanting to help Liverpool will disappear. We saw that years ago when we played Leeds. We tore into them & the place was buzzing & we battered them. But if they had just kept it together & gone 1-0 up, we would have just gone 'ah fuck it & fuck the rags'.

Just keep in control, calm it all down & take the points. Then both City & Everton fans will be happy

I was at Anfield when Liverpool beat blackburn (but blackburn still won the league) and when Redknapp scored that free kick, there was a very small cheer in the Kop but most of the crowd were screaming at Redknapp saying have you not read the script you daft cunt etc etc.

I think Everton will still back their team but the atmosphere wont be one where they are against us and will be nothing like it was in previous seasons where they are really up for it, just like last season when you would have been forgiven for thinking Moyes had just won the league

Intimidation of the ref has been a big factor in some of our games at Everton. One a couple of years ago, Dowd was giving a free kick every time JL or VK headed the ball in our half, but never giving any for us at the other end, so they just got to fire it into our box over & over again until it went in.

look all the conspiracy theorists will know very well that probert will be instructed to give everton two penalties and send off kompany, hart and zabba for kicking the ball.
who would put it past them?

If I'm not mistaken, the 'W' was round about this time of the year when Everton had little to play for.

The W was the year they were in the Cup final - Apr 2009. Jagielka ruptured his cruciate. Robinho and Ireland scored for us in a 2-1 win.

We have to win this game, and I believe if we do then Liverpool will drop points at Palace. If winning the league isn't enough motivation then what will be? ;)

There are rumours that Silva may at least make the bench. Yaya back, Aguero that bit fitter plus Everton's injury list.

I'm nervous but not overly so. :)

Im done analysing this game. Quite frankly if Martinez said he was playing the tea lady in goal I wouldn't feel any better. Its like 2 years ago never happened...its Newcastle away all over again. Cisse couldn't help scoring back then and on the day was anonymous. I hope the script reads much the same again.
