Lawro and Degenerate predictions week 37

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Lawro and Degenerate predictions week 37

Postby Wonderwall » Fri May 02, 2014 10:04 am

Lawro has reverted to type this week after losing the plot last week, no prizes for guessing his prediction

Amazingly Lawro predicts a liverpool banana skin this week with a draw at Palace

http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/27240312

This is a massive game in deciding the outcome of the title race but Everton will not be at full strength which is not good news for Manchester City's rivals at the top of the table.
Everton boss Roberto Martinez will be without Gareth Barry, who is on loan from City, and Kevin Mirallas is out for the rest of the season. Sylvain Distin is still an injury doubt too, and they missed him badly in last week's defeat by Southampton.
Against Saints, it just looked like Everton's season was beginning to catch up with them.

Because City need three points to stay on course for the title, I think they will win it.
Sergio Aguero is looking sharper with every game in their attack and, by hook or by crook, I am sure David Silva will play in this match. Yaya Toure is back fit for them now too, and he was fantastic in their win at Crystal Palace.
What this City team experienced in 2012, when they beat QPR with two stoppage-time goals to win the title on goal difference, will help them this time around. I do not see them letting it slip away now.
Lawro's prediction: 0-2

Merson has contracted Lawro disease this week and has gone for a 0-2 City win

In a way, the timing of this game hasn't fallen kindly for Man City. If Arsenal played before Everton and wrapped up fourth place then the intensity might have dropped out of their game, but Roberto Martinez knows that a win would take them back to within a point of Arsenal and would put the pressure on. However, the door has opened for Man City after what happened at Anfield last week and they surely won't see it slammed in their faces again. It's in their hands to win the league and they have got every chance. I don't worry about them in the big games because when they get their game heads on they are a very professional outfit - they were very impressive against Crystal Palace last week. It's the little games where they sometimes let themselves down. I expect them to win this game, especially when you consider Everton are without Gareth Barry and a few other players. The season has caught up with them and I think City will win and go on to take the title.

PAUL PREDICTS: 0-2

Tbf to Lawro, he was less bitter & tear stained than most of the Liverpool crew last weekend. I thought he did a fair job on motd & gave us our due, unlike Souness who lost it completely on Sky .

Lawro has predicted from the start that we would win the league. I think he has been quite fair to us over the season.

Lawro has predicted us to have 30 wins, 5 draws so far and has us on 95 points! The man is clearly deluded!

I never think we will lose. I know it's a possibility but I never think we will. He almost never thinks we will lose so that's why his predictions are as they are. We're a top team and these pundits know this.

Not even worth a new thread for the Hammers game.
Both gone 2-0 strangely enough.

The season we pipped the rags to the title the only team he predicted to go unbeaten was Victimpool, surprisingly managed by his old mate Kenny Dalglish at the time.

Hope he's right. To be fair to Lawro, although he's a dipper, he hasn't slagged us much this season and has been complimentary a lot of the time. Far better than a lot of dippers.
