I may have the chance of a couple of tickets for the west ham game BUT they are in the away section!!!
I have seen it mentioned on here and other forums that this is not an uncommon thing but I wanted peoples opinion as to whether this is a bad idea or really stupid.
We do not have a bad relationship with the Hammers but as I am taking my wife to her first home game I am not sure.
Will the stewards let us in?
Cheers folks
Andrew
I quite agree with you,' said the Duchess; `and the moral of that is--Be what you would seem to be--or if you'd like it put more simply--Never imagine yourself not to be otherwise than what it might appear to others that what you were or might have been was not otherwise than what you had been would have appeared to them to be otherwise.

London fans are all quite volatile, if we were playing Wigan or Blackburn etc you'd be absolutely fine but not with West Ham.
They had a big crew in the 80s that kids have been trying to emulate since Green Street.

I think you'd be alright if you went to in in neutral colours. I'd probably personally be honest too with the fans around me. Surely they would understand that you'd not want to miss a potential league triumph? As long as you were respectable surely you'd be okay? Chat to em and be decent and that?
Or maybe I'm being naive and trusting in humanity too much.

West Ham fans have always been a laugh IMO BUT no chance I'd go in wearing a City shirt. Theres bound to be a couple of pissed dickheads after a scrap.

If those are the only tickets you can get hold of, take them, go without colours and hope for the best. But bear in mind, if we drop pooints today I'm sure tickets will appear from somewhere

I was in the away section with the QPR fans when we won the league!
For 90 odd minutes it wasn't enjoyable but when it came through they were safe and the Aguerooooooooo moment came we were all jumping around!
I had my City shirt on as well, the stewards made me button up my shirt over it but at the end the shirt was was on the floor and I was loud and proud, the lads around me were great (albeit shit faced).

Dress neutral, don't celebrate. Just act like a tourist.

i've got a soft spot for WHU, when i lived in london and only went to away games i did exactly what you're going to do and couldn't keep my big mouth shut when city scored, then i looked around at the ever widening gap round me and my (ex)missus, a VERY kind WH fan came and escorted us out of the ground before i got a kicking, there were a few blues in their end that day, but as said in previous posts, being respectful, keeping quiet and not getting bothered. This was about 20 years ago though.......Good luck

It's gonna be terrible mate, a real nightmare with those nasty Hammers singing and shouting bad things. I'd say don't go and get rid of the tickets to somebody who deserves them.
