City's performance v Palace & for a decent part of the Everton game, was exactly what was needed. For a brief spell we lost our attacking threat v Everton, which invited pressure, but in both games, we took the sting out wherever possible & created an atmosphere which suited us, whilst dissecting the home defences.

We didn't chuck everyone forward, we stayed relatively solid but kept a strong goalscoring threat, we didn't create a rip roaring, end to end game which gets the crowd on its feet, we just looked to do our job efficiently & keep it calm.

We did our job miles better than Liverpool have just done theirs. And if that Chelsea team which played at Anfield had turned up at the Et, we would have calmly ripped that to fucking pieces without breaking sweat too.

Souness can shove it up his arse.
