Shameful.

And if you were one of the plenty that had a ticket and did not turn up. you are a wanker of the highest order.

I live 5 miles away. Left early to get there in good time. A56 was gridlocked because of an incident at the intersection of the mancunian way. I diverted through hulme and entered the mancunian way neat the parkway entrance to another gridlocked road because there was a jumper on the bridge.

I got to the ground as the match started. I know many more were caught in the mayhem and didn't arrive until 20 - 30 mins in so wind your neck in.

You should have predicted the jumper in advance or used a Tardis. Or set off on Monday.

Can I make a special mention to the fat fucker in the middle of my row - always arrives 5 minutes after the start, always leaves 5 mins before half time, always comes back 5 mins after half time and always leaves 10 mins early. I honestly don't know why he bothers. He'd be better getting a sky sports subscription piped straight into Greggs.

As for the rest, I actually thought it was better last night, even though the result was certain. Some left, but not as bad as it has been and, in fairness, if in was sat in the first 15 rows, I'd have been tempted to leave as they must have been piss wet through. I hope the stand extensions bring the roof forwards a bit.

I live in Leeds and met my cousin who travelled up from Basingstoke, we got there an hour before kick off. Must be a tough journey for you , 5 miles and all ...... all that traffic, it must have been terrible.

A lot of people come in via the mancunian way from M62/M602, A56, its a busy route, it does explain a lot of the empty seats at kick off. I left my house at 18:15 last night (90 mins early) this normally means I have plenty of time to spare, to go to the pub to meet someone or go to City square etc. Just because there were empty seats last night at kick off, does not mean they are not as much as a superfan that you are! I travelled to games from France frequently for 3 years and got there on time for each kick off, doesnt make me any better than anyone else.

People around me started to leave at 80 minutes last night.....I wanted to drag them back to their seats

"If we think we can fix the problem by buying expensive players - We'll become City"
"If we remember the good times to entertain us during the bad times - We'll become Liverpool"

So, keep calm and do it the United way

"We invest in young players, That is what we are good at — we’re not like other clubs who can spend fortunes on proven goods. We know that Manchester City are going to pay stupid money, pay silly salaries and all that. We can’t do anything about it. We concentrate on what we can do to try to bring players in for the right reasons. We invest in those who will be with the club for a long time, who will create the character of the club, who will create excitement for our fans. We are very proud of that and we are going to continue that way" - Alex Ferguson 14th May 2012

They mentioned the hold up due to traffic on sky.

It doesn't explain the huge amount of empty seats at the end though.

Such a pity, but that's the type of club we are known as now.

It was emptiness at the beginning was because of a traffic jam and road closure on the Mancunian Way. The bloke a couple of rows behind me arrived at half time for that reason.

Some may have fucked it off because they knew they were not going to make it, & watched it on tv instead. That's fair enough.

Doesn't explain the thousands who buggered off before the end though. For once, can't they just be a bit more tired in the morning ? Put the kid to bed a bit later ? Whatever excuse it is; it's 2nd to last game of the season ffs, just give the players a bit of a send off before you do one.

I didn't think the usual exodus with ten minutes to go was anything like as poor as it usually is. The empty seats are a disgrace though. If you can't make it you should give your ticket to another blue, it costs the same as not turning up.

I've mentioned elsewhere that the family stand is an issue. We have two kids tickets who never go to night games. A friend took one of them last night, but we had an empty seat next to us. I tried upping one of the tickets to platinum so I could get rid on Viagogo only to be told you can't sell just a child's seat, I'd have to get rid of mine as well.

I'd happily give the seat back to the club for them to sell for games I know it won't be used, but there's no way of doing it.

Having to pay £50 to be able to sell a ticket is a bad idea as well - unless you know you're not going to make a few games, it makes no financial sense. And when something comes up you're left with a ticket and no easy way to get rid unless you know someone who wants it.
