Players who will leave.

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Players who will leave.

Lescott just tweeted his thanks to club and fans, also I believe but have not seen the tweet Richards did the same. Also on a side note Sergio threw his Medal into the crowd, don't know why he would do this?

the post-match interview with Lescott has him saying he's leaving, which we all knew. Micah was also in the interview and he slyly implies he's leaving as well.

Barry is off also as his contract is up.
I'm not really a City fan. I'm just here for attention.

All great servants to the club. Shame about Micah but we need reliable quality. He'll do well if he can stay fit somewhere else.

I think Sergio might go too.

Dunno if you saw this, but he was mental and hungry to score today, like he wanted to be his last goal here.

Maybe one to discuss in a few days. Certainly not stuff I am going to spend time thinking about tonight or tomorrow.

I suspect we will see Rodwell and Richards leave - we pretty much already know Lescott and Barry are out of contract and wont be renewing. Is Sinclair still our player? I genuinely can't remember. If so, he will either be sold or loaned out again next season.
Personally I would sacrifice one of our leftbacks for Luke Shaw, and would like to see Barkley come in to take Rodwell's place.

Couple of weeks ago I'd have agreed about Richards and Rodwell, but if the FFP rap sticks, we may have little choice but to keep them since they're home grown.

Whilst Shaw has had a decent season, I suspect his fee will be ridiculous for a player with potential and we've seen plenty of players who've looked good for one season. There should be much better value available, although that may depend on home grown numbers

...and nothing suggests he can be ready to play the games Zaba cant, or is rested for, next season...a shame but there you go.

We have a B list to fall back on if we need it in the Champion's League, full of promising youngsters. Two English players coming in, both relatively young and already playing football to a good standard in the Premier League and we would be in a position to handle whatever restrictions are put on us. Both Micah and Rodwell were effectively dead weight this season and we would be at least as well off (and could actually be in a better position) if we'd left them out of the squad and just had two blank spaces.

Is his contract up? Hadn't realised he was one in that position and the talk recently was him going to Liverpool for about £6m

Appreciate we haven't used them much, but if the CL squad is cut to 21 and 8 of those have to be home grown, we may have no choice unless we spend a fortune on decent players who will count and with FFP we may not be able to spend a fortune. Should make a fun summer

No clue where the homegrown/English contingent is going to come from then.

Injuries aside, I don't know why everyone would be so quick to ship Rodwell out. Young, Engish, previously highly rated - with FFP, it might well be in our benefit to give him more time, now Pellegrini is settled.
