Because Lakey only stopped playing in 1996, which wasn't that long ago.

The eras are so different you cant compare directly. Back then we had some of Englands best players but now some of the worlds.

Fellow blues will remember that it was a lot more touch and go for us in those days. Teams weren't so dominant in winning the league and when we lost we were awful at times over the next few years.

I actually preferred the Tueart/Watson/Hartford/Corrigan version as a better side, but it all came to them at the wrong time. Or they fell at a couple of hurdles when Liverpool were on the March (77 Watson own goal, League cup semi cheating ref, inexplicable away performances).
