The one thing about Ferguson was that he generally knew the right time to move a player on, and to be fair he almost always got it right. If the club do opt to accept an offer, I trust these days that it would be for the right reasons

One thing about Ferguson was that even when he totally fucked up by moving a player on, or not moving a player on, another one dragged him out of it, or wankers like Arsene Wenger let him off the hook.

He got it wrong pretty much every time, even going back to the days of Strachan, who came back to haunt him with Leeds. Most recently by not tying up Tevez to a deal, just assuming he would put up with anything to sign for the mighty Maan U & then also failling to replace two ancient centre backs & ageing midfielders years earlier rather than being stuck with an ageing team.

Again he got away with it because we were shit & Wenger etc performed as usual. He's basically got most big decisions of that kind hopelessly wrong.

I'm more on about the big calls he made over the likes of Stam, moving Phil Neville after arguably his best ever season for them in centre midfield, same with Yorke, Cole, Nistelrooy, Butt, Beckham, all the way back to Sharpe when he was a very promising youngster. It could be said shipping McGrath out was a mistake, but that was for cultural reasons, perhaps that was also the case for Strachan.

And to be fair, your response gives zero credit for the fact that the 'one who pulled them out of the shit' may just have been ready to do so hence why the player was moved on when he was.

In the end 'unfortunately' for them when it matters (ie now) he clearly clung on to some of the 'class of 92' for too long but on the whole he did move people on at the right time. Tevez was slightly different as he was never a United player.

Stam & Beckham only went because Ferguson didn't like them anymore, not because they couldn't play for Utd.

Yorke & Cole went & Utd won 1 title in 5 years with RVN , Beckham's last season. Shortly afterwards, Wenger gave up winning titles for accountancy.

I just don't see how that lot equates to something the old cunt should be praised for.

How did we turn this into a conversation about Baconface?

Would he have let Yaya go now? is that the question we are trying to answer?

Who. Fucking. Cares.

But the point is that he made the right calls on Stam and Beckham didn't he, or at least the records will show that they weren't unduly punished for it. After 2001, no team would realistically have lived with Arsenal or Chelsea so it's hard to say they suffered for selling Yorke & Cole, they simply suffered because their opposition was at the very pinnacle or was hoovering up the best players in Europe.

As much as I admire your dogged disdain for his achievements, In the long run, he still had the last laugh over all of his rivals, which to me proves he was right more than he was wrong.

Why are you making out I have 'dogged distain' for Ferguson's achievements ? I've often made points on here about things we should do which he gets right. That doesn't include perpetuating stuff that isn't true. It's another 'Andy Gray' bollockism like 'you can't buy the title'. Ferguson made fucking loads of mistakes, & sometimes got away with it, sometimes not.

Nobody could believe for one second that they were better without Stam at the back. They weren't.

The records show that Utd didn't win another title for years after Beckham went. How the fuck you are using that as an indication of being right, God only knows. The records don't show anything to further your argument, at all.

No, he didn't get it right with Beckham & Stam, he got it wrong. And yes, he could have lived with Arsenal, as Wenger gave up winning titles the year after Beckham went. He hasn't won one since.

It's still quite simple for me. Yaya is irreplacable in terms of what he brings but if he wants to go then do so, with my blessing at least. However, I'd rather he stayed and with replacements build for an even better team.

He seems to be making big noises because his agent is doing his bidding and Yaya is backing him up. He wants respect and if that is not forthcoming he'll take a few headlines. Nothing new.

I see it as even simpler. Nothing has happened of interest. His agent is yapping and that is about it. If and when something worth talking about occurs, then it might be worth worrying about. Smoke and mirrors, we've seen it and heard it all before.

I was simply referring to the fact that you give him no credit for shipping out bad influences. I didn't say that they were better without Stam, the point is that they didn't suffer unduly as a result, and if Ferguson considered him to be damaging to the dressing room, it doesn't matter how good he was on the pitch, as per Tevez, he had to go in the managers eyes in our case. Him staying could have been worse, an outcome of course we will never know. As with how united fans trusted in ferguson (although sometimes misplaced) I trust the current regime implicitly after the events of the last 18 months, and that if they choose to get rid of yaya it will be for good reason in term of the clubs long term strategy.

“I take the opportunity that is given to me to put things in context. This is very important. I just said it was a pleasure to be a rather courted player and it was an honour to play for PSG. The media have released my words out of context. There are no plans at the moment. Too much has been said and it annoyed me,”

So he isn't angling for a move to PSG - does that mean we all love him again?

Agree with what Beefy said, although he isn't irreplaceable - no-one is - but he would leave a huge hole if he left and one that we might struggle to fill.

I just wish he took the opportunity to instruct his agent to stfu when he had the chance and stop this hazard like cock teasing. Its tiresome and unprofessional.

So am I understanding this twitter thing correct when I think I see that Yaya deleted his twitter account? Help.

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

If I'm not completely mistaken, he's no longer listed on MCFC's list of official player twitter accounts:

It was all planned - he wants to make a statement after the world cup for the sole reason that if he lights up the tournament then his stock will increase and thats when he will drop the bollock of GIMME MORE MONEY OR ELSE.

Hes a cunt as far as Im concerned and noone can convince me otherwise.
