They've got fuck all to complain about having only been at it 5 years & basically done fuck all.

If they'd had their name & colours for a significant amount of time, been through promotions, relegations etc etc, then it would be bang out of order to change it, but this is no more upheaval than changing a manager; they haven't had time to establish a proper identity yet. Those complaining will be mostly fans of other Prem teams.

Changing the COMS name to the Etihad would have been a big deal, affecting millions, but it didn't matter a toss to most of us for exactly the same reason; we hadn't had enough time to establish it as 'ours'.

I would be surprised if we changed our badge but anything is possible.

Did we get the rights to the brand back from the bloke who owned the chip shop, or the milkman; whoever Swales flogged it to ?

Pretty much. Being founded in 2009, they only entered the A-League in 2010/11. 4 seasons, finishing between 6-9th. The Heart name was and is still divisive. Most will adapt very quickly.

Reaction from the people here is mostly positive. Most football fans I know personally are thrilled that Villa is coming to the league.

Me too and i am reliving the Panini thing with my 10yr old lad for the WC :-) Used to open the pack and there was that smell about them.

Like many others, the old badge is THE badge of the club, although the new one is slowly growing on me, more so since we started winning stuff LOL

I am a massive fan of the Melbourne Heart badge. The Melbourne City badge is just. well, weird.

The Melbourne Heart badge was atrocious. Looks like something out of Transformers.

deja vu, I'm sure I just posted in this thread.

The Melbourne Heart badge was ace, the away kit was ace. The new badge and kits are shite. Done.

Agree entirely.

Also, equally ridiculous that Melbournce City are not allowed to play in sky blue because another club already does? Bunch of mongs down under.
