Just imagine how could you shut up all the voices that said the world cup will kill the economy in Brazil? With Brazil winning the cup, of course.

Why would Brazil winning the World Cup stop the protest? Those problems are going to disappear because of tournament. The issues going on there are far bigger than a game.

Well, people are genuine stupid and imagine the story of Brazil, a country in riots, that has economical problems more than ever, wins the cup.

They will promote the fact that because they invested, they sacrificed and etc, they won the cup and other countries should do the same for the "sake" of football.

You've never had the joys of going to a Mexico/US match at Azteca and sitting the away section. Dodging bags and cups of urine, vomit and feces.

i dunno too many brave American souls that would actually fucking go to Mexico City to an away fixture. Are you fucking amazing or retarded? You should get bags of feces and vomit thrown at you. Did you get beheaded by chance? Might explain the posts.

cheers

All I'm saying is that people were readily lining up to cry corruption when there were some shit decisions in the Brazil game, yet by the tone on here it was just down to shit refereeing in the Mexico game?

I'm fully aware of corruption at FIFA, and also that there was probably a political imperative that Brazil won to avoid large scale civil disturbance last night, but to call a referee corrupt for a penalty which was simply 'soft' is for me a completely baseless allegation in a single game.

He had a poor performance, as did the guy in the Mexico game (which for me was far more suspicious for sheer dubious decisions)

If a pattern emerges throughout then perhaps we would all be inclined to agree that something is going on, but for a single game I just find the accusations very harsh.

Spain's centre backs are absolute fucking shite. They are the only thing keeping Holland in the game. Every straight ball up the middle is a potential chance.
