This world cup in comparison with those from Africa is terrific, 3, 36 goals per game, penalty :D

What a block by Alves. Germany score from the corner though. Looks like this wont be Portugal's game.

Clive Tyldesley talks about The Rags all the time, regardless of who is playing.

How is it that Brazil play their 2nd game tomorrow before Russia and South Korea play their first game? That's a new one.

Sorry, was it a justifiable sending-off?

Germany always look like a mature and finished article. We always look like work in progress - or "in transition".

Mueller was playacting on the floor, Pepe went to tell him what he thought and bent his head up against Mueller's while he was still on the floor - sent off for aggression.

Iran v Nigeria, the team that played Gillingham in 1999 could batter both these - even now

That was like watching two teams of schoolkids. Nigeria's U17s are fucking miles better than that, on every level.

Distinct lack of hijabs amongst the Iranian chicks in the crowd, bouncing around. I bet the Ayatollah was knocking a guilty one out watching that on his secret tv.

He'll have to whip his willy with nettles & execute a few people to get it out of his system.

Do the English take any pride I watching the USA succeed? It's like watching your child learning to walk. I was more happy with the excitement around the game today then the result. Footy is growing in America. Exciting to watch.
