Why have someone who is fast & exceptional 1v1, in a defence which plays 'open' & is needs cbs who are great 1v1, when you can sign someone slow & completely shite 1v1 for half the price ?

I fully expect Ron fucking Vlaar to appear on the 'good enough' list shortly.

Well he was last night and since lots of fans are shitting it about Chelsea next season, signing someone who made Costa look like Torres might not be a bad idea...

Demi was fucking brilliant last 2 months of the season when it really mattered . Solid and a leader , more than made up for his errors earlier in the season when he wasn't sharp and fit enough for the pace of the premier league . Absolutely another season for him partnering Vinny ! As for £30 million for Pepe , fuck that !!! Caulker or Vertonghen for half that price as cover makes much more sense , even a sneaky bid for Jagielka wouldn't go amiss .

Like I posted Demi deserves to be first choice alongside Vinny after his superb form at the business end of the season . £30 million on Pepe is a complete waste IMHO . We broke up a proven CB pairing after winning the title in 2012 ...... it proved a disaster !

I actually feel a bit sorry for Pepe there - Muller was totally play acting but you cant respond aggressively like Pepe did, or you can expect to be punished.
Edit: having seen some slow motion replays I've no sympathy with Pepe now, it was a half headbutt. Muller should have been yellowed for the initial simulation though.

The commentator did mention his improved disciplinary record over the last 18 months to be fair. I sitll think they'd wind him up like they tried with Balotelli if he came to the Prem though, and I don't think he could resist for an entire season without responding somehow.

Just trying to be balanced - I also remember his headbutt from one of the Champion's League games this season just gone where he immediately went down as though he was the victim and ended up getting away with it.

Muller ideally should have been sent off for his ridiculous play acting which has no place on a football field. Honestly Ted I've seen a squaring up followed by a player simply putting his head into another's. A red card results. The referees seem to think they have no discretion on degree of contact. Personally I hate the play acting which results. Muller ought to be ashamed of himself but I dare say his team mates are patting him on the back. I'm. sure he needs to be rushed to hospital for a scan to check for concussion.
