I fully expect Ron fucking Vlaar to appear on the 'good enough' list shortly.

Well he was last night and since lots of fans are shitting it about Chelsea next season, signing someone who made Costa look like Torres might not be a bad idea...

Costa looked like Torres when he played for Spain previously though & both look like Samaras.

Like I posted Demi deserves to be first choice alongside Vinny after his superb form at the business end of the season . £30 million on Pepe is a complete waste IMHO . We broke up a proven CB pairing after winning the title in 2012 ...... it proved a disaster !

One or both will miss lots of games over the course of the season though.

Right ... so who wanted Pepe again?

(If you aren't watching Germany v Portugal, he's just gotten himself sent off, yet again, when Portugal are 2-0 down)

I actually feel a bit sorry for Pepe there - Muller was totally play acting but you cant respond aggressively like Pepe did, or you can expect to be punished.
Edit: having seen some slow motion replays I've no sympathy with Pepe now, it was a half headbutt. Muller should have been yellowed for the initial simulation though.

i still stand by my initial perspective that he isn't a violent, shitty cunt and is a very good defender. Next time Vinny gets a red let's call him a fucktard as well i suppose.

Also, I've wanted to headbutt some of ze Germans over the years. You know it make sense.

What's for lunch? A bit of crow perhaps. Anyone got some sauce?

The commentator did mention his improved disciplinary record over the last 18 months to be fair. I sitll think they'd wind him up like they tried with Balotelli if he came to the Prem though, and I don't think he could resist for an entire season without responding somehow.

Just trying to be balanced - I also remember his headbutt from one of the Champion's League games this season just gone where he immediately went down as though he was the victim and ended up getting away with it.

No issue with a mistimed tackle but that headbutt was ridiculous. You can't afford someone that stupid in a team

If that was a red card, then we should have had 5 or 6 more last season. Fucking joke decision.

Pepe was an idiot putting his head gently into Muller's face but the slightest contact with the head is deemed to be a head butt. I've seen them given in the Premiership. Muller ideally should have been sent off for his ridiculous play acting which has no place on a football field. They always get away with it so the less scrupulous players do it which unfortunately is all too many of them.

We did much worse than that last season on plenty of occasions & didn't even get a yellow for most.

Honestly Ted I've seen a squaring up followed by a player simply putting his head into another's. A red card results. The referees seem to think they have no discretion on degree of contact. Personally I hate the play acting which results. Muller ought to be ashamed of himself but I dare say his team mates are patting him on the back. I'm. sure he needs to be rushed to hospital for a scan to check for concussion.
