Maybe Tranaldo should have stood up to the plate but he looked half arsed yet again when it comes to his country . What Pepe did was fucking pathetic but he does that sort of stuff on a regular basis . Maybe he thought fuck this I'm outta here , red mist etc etc . We need pace & defensive ability not just passing; we can play Garcia there otherwise. Most of the players who keep cropping up in this thread are slow & awful 1v1 against pace. Demichelis can already do what Hummels does but he can't catch people 1v1 very comfortably, neither can Vertonghen & many of the other people who keep being suggested.

Hummels when exposed, like he will be every game if he signs for City, is fucking terrible. He's terrible sometimes even when he's not exposed. If we are going to play this way, we need the right players for when we lose the ball; players who can redeem an almost panic situation at times, because they will have to.
