Clark Carlisle, the expert manager saying Belgium need to bring Hazard off even though they need a goal, are you mad! No mention of Sideshow and how gash he's been for the entire tournament.

Belgium seem to be going the way of Engalnd, playing players for who they play for rather than ability and how they fit in the side.

Carlisle now inferring that Vinnie intended to hurt his opponent.

Do you mind, I was enjoying my one-way conversation ;-)

Zab's has been awesome, as ever. Talent, who needs talent when you've got that sort of passion.

Think you might unwittingly be doing Zaba a disservice there. He has talent, in spades. You don't get to be first choice fullback for the champions and your country without it.

His passion is without doubt one of his most endearing features and a great quality but he has bags of talent

Of course mate, just making reference to that bloke Fuckwittery.

On another note, it's wierd to think we could've had 5 players on the pitch who currently play for City and one that we couldn't afford to keep hold of.

That was the chance.

To be fair, they've not been that good all tournament. It's been the odd bit of skill/luck that has got them through. They won a poor group and then went on to beat America, who I thought played better.

Good game from what i saw second half. Think Costa Rica might just do it tonight. Belgium just seemed to have the sum of its parts greater than the whole. Lacked cohesion somehow. Individually good players but not enough gel there. At least Vinny can now get a well earned rest

I think I said it already after their first game: Belgium miss a midfield general. The gut from Zenit isn't good enough and Hazard and to some extent deBruyne are flair players.

Belgium's Golden Generation looking a bit like England's, great at club level but not quite getting it together as an international team. Both missing the right balance and a play-maker.

Tonight I am supporting Costa Rica, because I can't bring myself to support a team containing RVP.

Bratislava is still full of drunken Germans, noisy but harmless. Not surprisingly I have seem no Belgians or Costa Ricans.

Should Holland go on and win the WC, with van Pussie and van Gaal at the swamp, thel rags are going to be even more insufferably arrogant than usual

Robben may be more despicable than Suarez. Not easy to do.

Cheers

Van Gaal is either the biggest genious or idiot ever.

The Dutch really deserve to go through.

Changing keeper for pens - good move or too clever by half?

Come on Costa Rica

very interesting move. certainly paid off. would've been skinned alive if they had lost though.

Reports are Di Maria could be out of the WC. Could be big, but they rely on Messi so much maybe it won't be a big loss.

It's a huge loss if true.
