Robinho again today

Postby Vhero » Sat Dec 26, 2009 6:43 pm

Walked off and kicked what looked to be Bellamys Jacket dunno if it was seen on TV or not but I saw it clear as day he wasn't happy with going off. Seems he is not happy with being taken off probably because he is unhappy with his own performance?

It was clear he was disappointed with his own performance today. He looks rusty in my opinion. I didn't think his poor performance today was due to lack of effort. He was keen to get the ball, but his touch was poor, passes often misplaced and he didn't have his shooting boots on!

He's only had a handful of games this season and is coming back from injury so needs to regain full fitness, although I'm confident he'll do so.

It's a good thing that he recognises his own poor performances and hopefully he'll be working harder than ever to ensure it doesn't happen in his next appearance.

Didn't notice on my stream, but at least he didn't walk off down the tunnel this week. He is bound to be disappointed with his performance. I think it was Frank McLintock on the commentary (Setanta) and he was slating Robbie at every chance. But in all honesty he did have a poor game.

As long as he was unhappy about his own performance, as nothing worked, I haven't got a problem with it and i doubt mancini will

It was not shown on TV, but what they did show was a closeup of him, and he did not seem to be too upset, I would suspect if he did kick the jacket it was more out of frustration of his play, and not a tantrum.

Also, when he left the field last week, did he ever return to bench? We all know he cannot handle the weather.

15 goals from the left wing in your first season isn't a bad return, and he's been injured for most of this season so far. I don't know why people are so keen to get on his back.

I know a lot of people don't accept this but it does often take players a while to settle into a new team/country. Robinho's performance last year was pretty good in my book. Today he did work hard but was having one of those days where things just didn't happen for him.

Remember that most people didn't rate Drogba until his 3rd season in the Prem now he's considered to be one of the best strikers around.

Mate I ain't getting on his back for his performance today. I thought without him today it probably would have been 1-0 considering he set up one of the goals.

He was fucking awful today, worst home performance of his City career but he did as much closing down as it's fair to expect from a player of his type. He was trying as hard as you're ever going to see him. No lack of effort imo, just lack of pace, poor decision making, bad shooting technique.

I think once he scores we'll see the old Robinho exciting the crowd again. Having said that, imo Bellamy & Tevez are simply better players than him & so is Ribery, who we should sign.

Robinho was poor today and it's time for him to be sold if we get a decent offer in for him.

He's a superb talent but mentally weak and too lightweight. I think talent wise and his ability to beat a defender and create opportunities he is right up there. He's been here for 18 months though now and he remains an enigma and too often is on the periphery of the game.

When he was getting subbed today, i don't think he understood that the standing ovation was for Bellamy coming in and not for Robinho's sub-standard display. Robinho kicked the tracksuit on the floor in frustration before sitting on the bench.

And as for him creating the 1st goal, i completely disagree. It was Tevez with another positive run forward that created the opening for Robinho who fluffed his lines and was fortunate that the ball fell kindly for Martin Petrov to tuck away.

Tried his best but little came off. He was pissed off with his own performance. Just before he went off he let a ball go under his foot and out of play. Summed him up today.

Has produced next to nothing when he has played this season. I accept he's been injured but a player of his talent should be doing better. Today he spent a bit of time up top and wasnt effective as an outlet at all. His only position it seems is just off the left hand side of the front man. He's never produced anything anywhere else.

Robinho had better start producing something soon or we'll have to replace him with someone who can. Petrov came back in and produced today, even from the right wing. And like Robinho he has no idea on how to win the ball back.

I really don't have a problem with Robinhos performance today.

Actually ,i'm very pleased with the way he played.

He was part of a team today.... a team that didn't let the opposition score a goal.

i can live with that.

Nail-on-head there mate. He worked his socks off and was man-marked all the way through, with extra back-up when he had the ball.

He's a very likeable bloke and has moments of brilliance, but these moments of brilliance are not nearly frequent enough and haven't been for sometime now.

He's started the same amount of games as RSC since they both recovered from their respective injuries and IMO hasn't contributed nearly the same as him.

Yet RSC was slated and Robinho mollie-coddled because he is the darling of the club. Like I said above, he's a likeable bloke, but that's not enough. I don't want him sold but FFS lads he HAS to start playing like a British record signing soon or we will suffer for it in certain games and that can't happen... the difference Bellamy made in his short time on the pitch was vast and comprehensive.

He has to work harder on almost every aspect of his game and show desire and commitment. Because that's what Ronaldo did and he's who Robinho wants to emulate.
