All this unashamed jealousy and fearful envy does you guys no credit whatsoever and you only demean yourselves by making them.

However, we Tykes are better and more magnanimous than that and we're prepared to make allowances for you and all your inferiorities.........

Or, as one unnamed sage put it most accurately; "you can tell a Yorkshireman, but you can't tell him owt"

Corrected for you there, Mikhail lad.

I want to know why these bred in steel, died in wool Yorkshireman grew up support their War of the Roses rivals?

The sheep they knew when they were growing up must've been branded with a 'Blue C'.

I understand the 10-1 mate but as a staunch Yorkshireman surely you know the cross-pennine history between us and that even in this day and age those allegiances aren't their to be broken.

Go on, admit it. You're just a Yorkshire softie at heart ;-)

I ain't no staunch Y'arkshire man to be honest Beefy, typical one I suppose in the fact my wallet has a padlock and I do spend most my time in wellingtons. However I am not into the whole 'I'm from Yorkshire thing' . Don't get me wrong it's a beautiful place to be and I love my countryside. I open my curtains to view rambling fields and hills and a ten minute drive from here and I am in the Dales which is simply stunning!

Been based there for many years mate and know just how good it is away from the towns. During my years my homelife has gradually moved eastwards towards the hills and away from the towns, to the point that the people around me sound like 'The Sheep Shaggers from t'hills' that I always used to take the piss out of.

And I'm a tight bastard as well, nowt wrong with that but the wellies, no, they're there to keep the mud out not the hind legs in ;-)

Is it just me that thinks a Yorkshire bred girl whose moved to the city is perhaps the best thing since sliced bread?

Northern girls in the south....is a TV show I'd watch every week. With my pants around my ankles.

Cheers
