Bryan with the defensive role and a quarterback sort of role and Byrne also making the play but in theory further forward and linking much more closely with the striker and 2 attacking wide players.

Whether he will make it at City first team level is the big question and I don't have the answer but surely surely some of this age group will.

Toady's game was a good one and as Ted said Roma were no mugs. They looked decent at our place and far far better than Bayern. We won today without a few obvious players.I am not sure of their ages but no Angelino,Glendon,Ntcham,Pozo,Fofana so an excellent win and it really does augur well for the future.

I didn't see all the game as I only started after about 20 minutes but it was far from easy but once we had scored we were clinical in finishing the game off in style.Celina is really growing on me.He has been played out of position quite a bit recently as a striker and done a jonb for the team but his quality of touch, simple passing and creative passing looks very good and he does score goals. The first one for City today seems quite typical of him. I spoke to him at the CFA opening and he had no answer to why he was being used as a striker especially when Ambrose was also playing. All about experience and I trust Patrick Vieira.

Ambrose goal showed his abilities as a striker but he also gives his all and looks good when he plays the wide role.I liked the little glimpse we got of Garcia too, very exciting.

I was a bit worried about Byrne at the start of the season as he just seemed to have lost his touch & his edge, & he was like a 12 year old when I saw him amongst Ireland's U21s. Now he looks right back on it & is getting one or two goals as well as making assists.

Like several of City's young players, he is a shortarse. If he was 6ft tall & well built, I'd have no doubts about putting him in City's first team squad tomorrow. As it is, he will have to find a bit extra, in order to play in City's team & compensate for his size & lack of any special pace or strength. But if in the future he can find the body stregth of Silva for example, then imo, he will play for City. Then it's a case of whether he stays & improves or peaks & then moves on.

Hardly any of these lads look below the required talent level to me. It's just down to whether they will be able to stand up to the requirements of playing the same way vs adults. I'm pretty sure some will do it. How many, is the question.

Garcia was nothing short of wonderful to watch when he came on. But the way people like Byrne instantly linked up with him, even though they play in different teams, shows how City's system works.

They move the ball around very quickly. I really enjoyed the 20 minutes of the game that I saw.
