Shite is shite.

Going through all that, year in year out for fucking decades, then seeing the best Cjty team in history, play like a bunch of starstuck fan boys for Barca, is soul destroying imo.

Losing to Stockport was fuck all. We were shit & we knew it. That's what shit does.

We never got to play v Barca, No blue ever thinks we are shit, we leave that to others, I believed we were gonna turn it around, as for the loss to Stockport that was how I felt mate, not you.

Of course it's my opinion.

But don't talk bollocks 'no blue ever thinks we are shit' maybe if you were about 6 years old that's true. We actually sang 'we're shit & we know we are' & joined in with people singing 'going down' by answering 'so are we' etc etc in the past, it was about passion & humour.

We watched shit every week, & booed, swore, fought & laughed about it half the time, but we never sat there in silence like fucking zombies, watching a great team kicking the ball away like a 4th division side because they were scared.

It was a horrible, passionless fucking non event v Barca last season when it should have been one of the most exciting nights in the last 40 years. The biggest letdown I've ever known since I started watching football.

Like chatting up Jessica Alba, getting her home & she sits watching Coronation Street in her curlers & when she does get her kit off she turns out to be a bloke.

If the team & fans do their bit we do have a great chance. Otherwise absolutely not, which is my original point: get at them.

I'll be watching the Martin Tyler version anyway so I won't be an influence one way or the other.

My liver can't take another few days in Barcelona, I honestly was grateful to be heading straight back to Saudi after last years game so I could dry out for a couple of months.

I was hoping for a different city to make it worth the expense of travelling from he Middle East, so will have to just wait till we beat these cheating cunts and go in the next round instead

And for all of you saying that Basel-Porto, etc. is a proof of the draw being rigged, how do you come to that conclusion?
If the draw was rigged, don't you think Barca would have wanted to end up with one of those two teams rather than us?

Yeah, but they get to bring their own ref.

Both valid posts imo.

Nool is bang on with the logic that Barca would not have wanted us in the draw. If, as they say, Barcelona rule UEFA, we are not the club they would have chosen. Ideas of conspiracies against forget this.

Also, Peter is also correct in that we have to be really careful as one thing that they can influence will be the choice of referee. They will dive and cheat and roll around and be in the refs ear from the first minute.

Let us hope by the time the fixture comes around we are still up there in the Prem and have a fully fit squad to choose from. Let us also hope when we turn up we play Barca we play the team and not the brand. As Ted alluded to, we just sat back, shat it and were overawed last time. Especially galling as they were there for the taking. I can take defeat by anyone, if the better team wins and we have at least put a shift in but defeat last time was poor.

We can win this, make no mistake, then the rest of Europe will sit up, even if our own press don't

I'm actually looking forward to this and believe we can beat them, I think they're quite equal. My only reservation is that those who fined us won't want us knocking one of their darlings out, just like we see in, say, the Chelsea game from a few years ago.

I really believe we can beat them too if we have a fit team.
Mind you I really believed we'd beat them last year. We were in a lot better shape last December squad-wise. I lost money on that.
I also agree about having to knock out one of their darlings. Chelsea were certainly screwed a few years back.
But, I do believe it is going to take a big incorruptible performance for City to progress beyond the bit part they've let us have to date. Everyone had City written off in their group and gave little or no kudos for turning it around.
Perhaps this will turn out to be the year that galvanizes the team in the face of adversity and leaves the rest of the world speechless.
Knocking Barca out is the next step in our journey.
I won't put a tenner on it this year though.

We didn't have a fit team last year. Aguero should have come off after 2 mins in Camp Nou and Kompany didn't play did he? Mangala is a definite upgrade on Lescott, who I thought was appalling in Barca - although others said he was apparently 'heroic'. Heroic crap if you ask me.

It feels a little bit like when we were getting closer and closer to the RAGs but they just held us off. There was a slight period of parity and then we've taken them to the cleaners ever since.

City getting stronger, Barca getting slightly weaker year on year.

If I may give a recommendation, there's a place on Carrer De Ferran (the street off La Rambla where KFC and McDonalds are on the corner), across the road from the Irish Bars and 20 seconds walk from Plaza Real where all the City fans gathered last year. It's fairly cheap, sleeps 5, is modern, clean and free wifi. Location is about as good as you will get for getting all the atmosphere. It's called MH Opera Rambla

Only negative to it, is running the gauntlet of all the brasses on the street outside, but that in itself was an experience last year. My mate was being pawed by one, it was obvious to everyone but him she was dipping his pockets but he is a bit of a gullible cunt. When he checked his pockets I set off running after this tart only to find the bouncer from the Irish bar had also been watching had already gripped hold of her. Only way to get the money off her was to become a little bit er, violent, after which she handed over the 300 euros. 5 minutes later the pimp came bouncing down the street, at which point an old bloke wearing a city shirt, he must have been late 60s early 70s,who had seen what had gone on, spotted him from the doorway of the Irish pub, ran down the street and knocked him clean out without a word being spoken.

In other events, we spent the day in Plaza Real before the match, went to McDonalds for a feed and fell asleep about 6pm, some old dear woke me up and told me I'd better get a move on, made kick off with a couple of minutes to spare after copping for a baton charge outside the ground.

Interesting evening, but I digress, get them apartments booked!
