Not read all the details but there are many theories considering his well documented past.
I hope he pulls through he has been a good ambassador for the game and the anti racism campaigns.

Hope he recovers.

Can't be doing with the PFA, but still, all the best to him & his family.

Can't imagine he's going to be the same after encountering a lorry though, even if he does recover. Not good.

A bloke with previous for a suicide attempt, has had an encounter with a lorry, in unusual circumstances.

Thus 2+2 is being generally added together.

I have met Clarke through my work with Just a ball game as he is also a patron and he is a lovely guy. Even took the time out to text me when I got on board with the campaign. He is so unlike many other footballers in that he is articulate and intelligent. Was sad to hear this last night. Thoughts are with his family.

twitter is saying it was a bridge he jumped off? No idea what the full story is yet. Just glad nobody was killed, poor lorry drivers life has also been changed because of this. Feel for his wife and 3 kids at Xmas too.

Well my first thought, if the story suggesting suicide is correct, was with the lorry driver and his family.

Thoughts to all involved. To Carlisle and his family as he clearly has some major demons which is incredibly sad, and also to the poor lorry driver who can hardly have been prepared for or done anything about what happened as well.

Awful for all concerned.

How very strange. If it as an accident, how did he miss a lorry coming down the road?

If it was a suicide attempt, it's gotta be hard on all those linked with him, from family to driver.

Anyway, thoughts to them all, they must be going through hell.
