Mancini - We Can Win It THIS Season

Postby saulman » Tue Dec 29, 2009 9:24 am

Shite rag paper but direct quotes from the man himself.

http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Ro ... 70261.html

Right now we're 10 points off the top with a game in hand. With the top clubs dropping points for fun and the transfer window looming...........is it possible? I think it's possible but not probable.

However, it's so refreshing to hear that our targets are now starting to match our ambitions and nothing appears to be ruled out as far as Bobby Manc is concerned.

I love this part when a new manager comes in.............before everything goes tits up and we start all over again. ;o)
Has the world gone mad, ..............or is it me?

9 times out of 10 a new manager has this effect. Just wait over the next few games when our defence is down to the bare bones.

Hope it continues because so far Mancini is MANAGING the players and the match. Changes in formation and personnel when things are quite right. Just what we need, and similar to what mourinho does.

I fucking hope and pray we can keep winning and make the final of the league cup, because if this is all for real, another 4 or 5 wins in a row and people will start believing it.

if we win, say, the next 6 (all are very winnable), it would be a 9 game streak. It would take that to get us into the top 3 frame. And that is a very big ask, but champion teams do it regularly.

City will win the league in 2011. 3 more windows and a manager of this class gives us every chance. I'd bet you would get crap odds on that bet, today. Bookies usually know.

It's very possible and after yesterday hopes are no doubt high I would be happy with top 4 hell above the rags would be more important than winning the league for me but winning it? That would be... well I can't put that into words...

Dropped Points League

1...Chelsea....Dropped 15pts
2...Arsenal....Dropped 16pts
3...the rags...Dropped 17pts

4...Villa........Dropped 22pts
5...CITY.......Dropped 22pts
6...Spurs......Dropped 23pts

7...L'Pool.....Dropped 27pts
....Fulham....Dropped 27pts

In the short term; Villa and Spurs are our immediate rivals but if L'Pool take anything tonight, we push ahead of them and are on schedule for the top 4.
In the longer term; The rags are only 5pts away and the with their injury list, a CL campaign to exhaust them and a derby at CoMS still to play, they are still well within our sights...for top 3.
Arsenal are 6pts ahead but I can see the CL being their main target and this may mean a wobble or 2 later in the season to let us in.
Chelsea are only 7pts ahead but they have a month without their Africans and also a CL campaign to battle through. They seem to be having their problems with confidence and have dropped a lot of points lately...They could still be within range if we put a run together.

Historically, we are 9pts ahead of our League winning 1937 campaign at the same stage and only 1 pt behind where we were after 19 games in 1968.

I always believed that even under Hughes, we had the depth of squad to go for the title and that we would be stronger in the 2nd half of the season. Mancini seems to gone some way to stabilise our defence, even with a makeshift back 4. I don't see our rivals being able to afford to do much strengthening in the transfer window and I think the top 3 will all suffer from the effects of the harder games in the later stages of the CL.
Will we do it?...Who knows?...Can we do it?...Put a decent run together and...WHY NOT?

    Agreed each words
: I think Roberto was mostly aiming to warm up and reward the players for their commitment to the whole cause, as they are turning in a actual team quick.

Then, very theoretically, it is not an absurd (would rate at best 5%), but as for the old adage: to get there we also need top teams to slow down and they are quite too much to expect all of them to slow.

1. "unintelligible language"
2. "ACID QUEEN"
3. "never once fails to turn a football thread into a himseelf thread"
4. "thumbs stalker often resulting in repetitive thumb strain"
5. ignore the cunt. he's on permantent wum mission. only TIDs may know City

You'd need to make a very good psychiatrist in order to guess what next in a eight yrs long line of hatred...

In Roger Ailes/Donnie Drumpf's words: "don't know it for a fact, but many people say so..."
there must be some truth, then!

As per John's Form Guide, it is good to see us move to equal 2nd for the last 6 games with the wins under Mancio; he may have a point. Brum go top!
