In his day there were not many who could hold a candle to him. Should have fucked off at least a season (if not 2) ago though.

Most overated player possibly ever - he was a very good player don't get me wrong, but the big flaws such as his selfishness on the ball and always wanting to do that extra bit of showbiz on the ball prevents him from being one of the greats in my eyes

That and the fact he is a massive cunt

I particularly remember his post-match. on-field, performance after they beat us at their place last year. All fist pumping, breast beating emotional fervour as though they were some kind of millenarial cult praying for the second coming. I remember saying to a Liverpool supporting mate that night, that that sort of attitude would lose them the title. Contrast it with our team after beating the rags at home the season before. There's a picture of Komps and Joe leaving the pitch. Their eyes were cold and a complete image of steely-edged determination.

He poo pooed me: well I had the last poo poo.

Not a great trait if you're playing for the dippers.

Pretty much mirrors my experience with my mate. After the match, although we lost, I came away from it much more relaxed than my Liverpool mad mate. I said if that was Kompany out there crying like they'd just won the league, with another 6 or 7 games to play, I'd be worried.
Liverpool were running on emotion and adrenaline from January last year. Always felt that all it would take would be a bad result (like the Crystal Palace collapse) to totally deflate them. If you are pumped full of adrenaline for that long, when it's gone, it leaves you wasted.
Gerard that day epitomized the whole Liverpool lovefest, we deserve this more than anyone, it's all about me, attitude.
I was quietly confident, that they would fvck up after seeing that. The question for me was would we capitalize.

Apparently, Gerrard has been working on a book about his time at the dippers which will be published at the end of this season. As yet there is no title....

Magnificent.

To quote KK, 'absolutely love it' the fact he won't win the Premier league. Unless he joins us on loan in January....

Have I just heard Brenda right? I'm sure he just said that Liverpool could go onto win the league due to Gerrard's contribution last season.

In Brenda's mind, he won it!

Heard yesterday that the FA Cup final is on his birthday, so you can guess what the agenda will be. Hope he slips in the final...

It was mentioned on the ITV news that the FA Cup Final could be his last game with the phrase 'the script's already written'! Shades of last season. Another reason to cheer for AFC Wimbledon on Monday.

Sounded like Brenda gave Gerrard an ultimatum and Gerrard snidely claiming he's been forced out a bit.

For me though, with the timing, it's as if the Dippers/Rogers is trying to play to the league and the sympathy vote. Basically, it's his last season, give him a trophy, then boots him out in Feb to the MLS.
