Ten years ago, Gerrard was winning the Champions League and Rodgers was a youth team coach at Reading. On what fucking planet is he living on?

Gerrard, pre-Brenda

Gerrard with Brenda
2.5 seasons, 0 trophies

Like yourself, I found that quote quite amazing. The rest of his interview seemed to be about how the conversation with Brenda led him to believe that his time was over, somehow putting blame on Rogers for his own performance.

Anyway, tried to light a candle today but after a trip through 5 countries, there were none left to burn.

For myself, I think it's even better than fabulous.

Absolutely love it.

Nice one PD.

Magnificent.

To quote KK, 'absolutely love it' the fact he won't win the Premier league. Unless he joins us on loan in January....

If Gerrard were to sign up for a US team and then come to a loan arrangement, next season, to stay with Liverpool, I wonder if everyone would be so angered as they are at the moment with City's current agreement with Frank Lampard ??

They would if he was loaned to Everton.

I think it's already been mooted he will return on loan when MLS season ends. Of course there won't be any anger, the dippers will use "the Liverpool way" which of course is the right way according to the media. I thought Lampard had signed for City, yet all I've heard is how he's extended his loan?

The last home game of the season for Stevie starfish is against Crystal Palace, my missus has already been offered £600 for her ticket, crazy candle holding bollocks of epic proportions. I have told her that if it gets to 1k, she is getting rid of it and she can come with me to see the champions lift the trophy and have a party. she can bring the candle too if she wants.

I told her to, but she is the same as the other gaga knobheads about him. I put 1k down as a marker as I have no doubt that unless he gets injured you would get that easily

By May, at a measly1K, it'll seem like a steal to the scouse faithful. Which of them could resist that allure?

Heard yesterday that the FA Cup final is on his birthday, so you can guess what the agenda will be. Hope he slips in the final...

It was mentioned on the ITV news that the FA Cup Final could be his last game with the phrase 'the script's already written'! Shades of last season. Another reason to cheer for AFC Wimbledon on Monday.

There is absolutely no way i'd pay £600 to watch a footballer just stop playing football for a club. Even if it meant watching Maradona retire in his pomp.

Never mind Steven fucking Gerrard. Can't get my head around that at all....

Here's hoping for 1k hey?

Ha. To be fair i can see it with a title winning possibility, cos being there would be incredible. Not sure you can do that much for £400 either really.

Ah hindsight is a beautiful thing innit?

Will someone put me out of my misery, and explain why he's being called Stevie Starfish.
Is it just because he's an arsehole, or have I missed a deeper meaning?

I have seen it referenced a few times and made me chortle, so went with it, it does have a nice ring to it!

What's more, heard Rodgers say the same thing. Getting it out there early, that it would be a lovely way for him to end his Premiership career.
More of the same really. He drummed up the pro Liverpool agenda on the back of Hillsboro and also the fact that it would be a great way for Stevie to end his Liverpool career. It didn't happen. Stevie stayed on. With Gerrard being forced out and them doing so bad this year I get the feeling we'll hear a lot more from him the further they go in the FA Cup. Stevie would deserve it , you know.
