We Are 5th!!

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

We Are 5th!!

Postby King Kev » Tue Dec 29, 2009 9:52 pm

I know this has been mentioned in another thread but the table makes such good reading at the moment I reckon it's worth a thread of it's own.

We are perfectly poised to finish in the top 4 IMO.

It certainly makes good reading. 5th place with a game in hand on the team above and 3 teams below.

What is also massively in our favour is that we have already played all the teams chasing 4th spot away from home.

Liverpool v Spurs next up in the league as well so as long as we don't slip up against Blackburn then we have a real chance to move into 4th spot outright.

Still a long way to go, but the signs are good.

And just 5 pts behind the Rags in second - if it wasn't for THAT goal it would be 2 pts...

nice to look at that,
liverpool v spurs
wigan v villa
city v blackburn.
next 3 fixtures for those involved in top 4 scrap.
could get better.

5th and 5 points behind the scum with a bunch of good games coming up I think we could go up a couple more places at least holding onto that spot will be a test though.

Unfortunately this time tomorrow it will be 8 pts behind those cunts with a game in hand - still not bad going considering!

I am just starting to think about my bet at the start of the season at 33/1 - perhaps not so daft after all?

Lovely sight to behold. Just imagine if we'd beaten Hull, Burnley and Fulham.

Plus draws to Bolton and Birmingham and threw away the lead at the Scouse.
Anyway its early days and still tight at the top so we can easily make up for earlier fookups :-)

Just seen Jamie Rednapp on SSN claiming the scouse havnt got the quality that City have..He aint half singing our praises lately.

Hence the thoughts of our owner, hence the change, hence the improvement these past 2 games, hence the new found optimism and better level of consistency in the club against Stoke and Wolves.

Villa, Spurs, Liverpool, Man u, Birmingham all have to come and play in our house - its all there for us if we want it, as the playing squad is talented enough.

Already in the bag is two wins against the other ''big four'' at home, cheers Hughes lad.
We must be a pretty daunting opposition at Eastlands we lose very rarely.

Agreed.

Getting up for the bigger teams doesnt seem a problem for us, its the dross we have struggles against so our final placing will likely be determined by our ability to despatch teams like Hull, Wigan, Blackburn, Bolton etc
