Darius Vassell's Turkish Blog

Have not been on regularly in a while, but was forwarded Darius Vassell's blog from Turkey. Hope it has not been posted already! If so, sorry for the duplication.
Check it out at http://www.vassell.net/Darius/Welcome.html

He has had at least one thing go right in Turkey. One of his team (Ankaragucu)'s Turkish Super Lig derby rivals, Ankaraspor, were automatically relegated for having been purchased by a close relative (the son, I believe) of Vassell's team owner. Since it reeked of collusion to the league, they took the quite possibly unprecedented step of relegating the team for the next season, awarding each of their matches as a 3-0 win for their opposition.

Looking at his Blog he doesn't seem a very happy player where he is now. I kinda felt sorry for the bloke till I realized how much money he is probably earning and though FUCK IT no I don't.

I felt really sorry for him when he got turfed out of his hotel because the club hadn't paid the bills. Does anybody know the story behind that and how it was resolved?

Sometimes money isn't the answer to everything V. If he's homesick, having 10 grand in his pocket isn't much use.

I'd like to see Vass back in England, back at home and playing in the Premier League- he's definitely still good enough for someone at this level. And with us he scored so many memorable and important goals, and NEVER gave less than his all yet he's constantly the butt of jokes at the ground and on the internet.

Yeh I feel bad for Vass if he isnt happy there. I hope he gets out of there and back to the Prem. Cant ever fault the guys effort in blue and like you say, he got some big goals for us. It was a risky move for him in the first place though. I'd be really surprised if there weren't a handful of options for him to move somewhere in the Prem instead.

I like the way he is in regular contact with the fans, shows a real down to earth attitude and from what I know of him, i'd expect nothing less.

Strange decision to go to Turkey, I can't imagine his motive being money, so what was it?!
