He tried so he's not to blame really. I also thought Jovetic was okay for about fifteen minutes when he came on and then after disappeared into nothingness like everyone else.

We need a plan B cos with just Silva we're fucked as im not convinced Jovetic will ever fit in and without Nasri and Yaya we look desperately bland.

What happened to the 9 that didn't hit the first man ?

Seeing as they were all low crosses, that means the ball was played in past the fullback 9 times from wide, along the floor, & not once did anybody get a touch.

At least one should have hit somone on the arse even if they didn't score, if they were making an effort to get into a scoring area. That kind of illustrates my point.

I think that when we realised Sergio wasn't fit enough to deal with two cbs we should have made the change to 2 strikers. There is no rule you have to wait to half time. Nevas frustrated the hell out of me but he was our only threat. I know I go on about it Ted but why have we paid 30 mill for a lad with the presence and personality of a page boy. He was the alternative for Navas to hit and he never showed in the box once.Rightly hooked. But to be fair, we had no luck in the box with the bounce, Arse got the breaks and with a lead they played brilliantly on the break.i didn't get too frustrated because you could see early doors it was gonna be one of those days.

So:

Sergio not ready.
Kompany not ready.
Dzeko not ready.
No Yaya.
No Nasri.

No wonder we couldn't get it together against a good Arsenal team.

He was the best player on the pitch vs the same team last year. Difference being he was playing in a badly balanced team this time around, with no effective striker.

Poor.

Too many half-fit players, too many notable absentees. The lack of clean sheets is also a major concern.

Easy to say but Kompany and Aguero were so far off the pace they were playing in the Everton game from last week. Navas may have been our only threat but jeezus his distribution in the final third is questionable at best. Yes he grafted his arse off, I would give him that but grafting wins you pats on the back - real quality wins you matches.

The brutal truth is that an under strength Arsenal team won with a cigar on. Bad bad day at the office.

Aguero was willing he just didn't get the service with how we were set up . Navas was willing but the final ball never really came off plus a couple of lucky deflections off Arsenal defenders went there way . Tactically we were hopeless even when the game was stretched for 20 mins at the start of the second half , Arsenal were there for the taking then but we just wernt at the races all over the pitch .

Don't agree at all , that's just trying to justify the loss imo.We had enough top players out there to perform better and they didn't , Kompany's performance was dire, full blame goes to Pellegrini for playing him in a high powered game like this one, ridiculous decision to drop Mangala for him.
For all the fans going on about us missing Nasri , here's a fact for you all , he has played SHITE every time we have played Arsenal, so to say we missed him is bollocks.

We basically lost due to a fuckup by Kompany followed by loss of ideas upfront against a side that were well organized in midfield and at the back.

End of IMO.

Funny that ,

I gave all our players a 9 that day , possibly one of the best games of football I have had the pleasure to watch at the Etihad ;-)

The only real complaint I have about yesterday was when the arse fans were taking the piss, our only answer was to fuck off to beat the traffic.
As for the game, we were well beaten by a team I found hard to believe were Arsenal.
TBH I thought they were superb, while we were pretty dire.

At the match I felt we lacked a little zip and missed Yaya. He is always there to receive the ball and is creative and dangerous. I thought Arsenal showed a flat back 9 at times and made things difficult. Whilst Arse did break well with speed and guile on occasion I did nt think they were brilliant. We had lots of potential attacking situations but it was nt happening. It seemed a bit of a smash and grab with Arsenal benefitting from a daft penalty and a free header. When I got home there was lots of talk of superb Arsenal to my surprise. I checked the stats and they had 35% possession and only 3 efforts on target. Maybe it was the beer I drank between the EDS and the first team in Mary Ds but it's as if they played like Real Madrid. Well executed tactical plan I suppose but two soft goals from very few chances for me.

I agree 100%.

They played a game where they relied on us not scoring first, with our team lacking creativity & power due to the players available.

Fair play to them, that they managed it with a much greater urgency than we usually see from an Arsenal team, they usually gift the oppo a goal or leave a hole in the system, but it was only the same performance we have seen from several other teams vs City. No way was it any better than when Sunderland almost beat us last year for instance & Stoke defended better than them.

if we'd had strikers fully fit, I think we would have given them another fucking, as they would have had to cope with aerial pressure as well as our passing game.

If we had scored first, it would have been another hammering.
