hughes did an average job at city and came out smelling like roses im sure if he waits around he will be offered a much better job than bolton, I think off that list Ferguson looks most likely

Funny I always thought we were a decent side when we were down there. When in actual fact we were shite, like that lot!

I know yeh i remember when i thought we had a europe challenging side with the likes of dabo, barton, samaras I honestly believed they where good players!!!!

but seriously i say good but theirs not much to choose from in the bottom half, i still think pompey have a chance of staying up when only a few weeks back they looked dead and buried, could be any of 8 and I wouldnt be suprised which ever 3 it is, very close!

My older brother (Bolton season ticket holder) has just been on. He's very happy. He and a few of the cousins were not going to go next season if Megson was still in charge. They have had to put up with some serious dross there this year.

Hughes is favourite but I doubt it. Steve McClaren has been mentioned also by those allegedly 'in the know'. Knowing Bolton though, they'll go for a cheap option.

I'd be very surprised if Hughes went there, especially so soon after we dumped him.

i dont believe Hughes will manage again this season. hopefully our agreement with him puts him on gardening leave until the summer. i'd hate to see him come back and [strike]beat[/strike] draw his with theirs.

cheers

Thing is though, just who do Bolton fans think they are? Just because they have a successful period under Fat Sam they seem to be demanding European football every season. Megson does a good job keeping them up despite them uselling their better players but still they're baying for his blood. They looked a much better side than City a few weeks back in my opinion so I can't really see where all this is coming from. They're a club punching well above their weight.

What the fuck? Manager sacked and nobody in his seat already? What sort of shit outfit is that?

Seriously, I know people who go to Bolton and wish they didn't this season. I heard a quote on TalkShite today that said "Megson has perfected the art of losing ugly". - says it all really.

Don't see Hughes going there tbh, I think he'll take a few months out then look for a club like Sunderland or Newcastle (once they get promoted), he's already proven he can do a job for clubs like Bolton at Blackburn so he'll be looking for the next step up.

Think Peter Reid might be the man to take over at Bolton.

If they're smart, they'll bring in Curbishley. He would deffo keep that lot up, but as I can't stand the bastards, I hope they bring in Shearer. It would get his mug off the telly and condemn Notlob to the second tier. Lovely.

Agree about Hughes. On all recent history, Bolton is a smaller club than Blackburn (look at top half finishes and European qualification in the last decade and add that to success in the 90's...) - he needs something bigger than Blackburn but smaller than our little project.

Yeh agreed. Hughes is way above Bolton. He'll be looking to manage one of the bigger clubs. I think Newcastle could be a real possibility after they come up and get taken over.

Bolton are a shite club with no fans and no money. No way. I'll Streak at Eastlands in the derby if Hughes goes to Bolton.

They need to get someone who knows how to get teams out of where they are at the moment. If I was a Bolton fan I'd be praying for Curbishley.

would expect curbs to be top of thier wanted list. However wouldnt be too surprised if the son of satan was dragged in with a few loan players from the scum as part of the 'sweetener' from daddy. Could just see taggert viewing this as a good test for junior - would almost be a no- loose possition!

Not suprised, nor will the media be.

Now if Hughes took over I'd be very suprised. Like Socs mentioned, he needs something bigger than when Blackburn were battling for Uefa Cup qualification.... maybe Liverpool? ;)

The fuck were they booing him after his first game for?!?!?! Took about not giving him a chance!!! And WE get slagged off!

Who do bolton think they are? Megson never managed a rival? Didnt they beat bayern Munich or some decent team and still got slagged off. Its their fans that have impacted on team performances.

Can see Hughes taking over until the end of the season, Bolton aren't big enough for him in the long-term.

Celtic. Mowbray landing more than a few points off the title won't endear him to anyone...
