No matter how you interpret the rule, that was bloody offside.
You're right about going to bed, though, I think will poor myself a big whiskey and soldier on. This is depressing.

It wasn't offside.

Crouch was offside when the original ball was played in, but that offside didn't affect hart's mishandling of the ball....a new 'phase of play' begins after as hart spilled the ball, Crouch couldn't have been offside as the ball came from Hart, not a Stoke player.

There are dozens of these given every week.

I totally disagree with this - and I'm pretty sure the rules do as well.
Crouch was part of the play and beat the defenders to the ball due to standing in an offside position when the shot was made.

Well something is clearly not right in the dressing room. We used to have a dialy meltdown about this time each season during Mancini but now it's back. Fuck.

If you're not right, it means you can park one player at the goalie and just wait for someone to shoot and create a rebound, right? Or am I completely misunderstanding your discussion?

On my dodgy stream I couldn't make out if it was a handball or not. Looked like he headed it, but I guess not. Otherwise there would have been more protests on the pitch,

Zaba is the worst fullback in the league at the moment, but Kolarov is desperately trying to get the crown. That shot Kolarov took on about 44 mins, with half the Stoke team racing out for a breakaway, is as bad as it gets.

I don't know what the fuck they were attempting to do for Crouch's goal, play offside perhaps, but Zaba was fucking criminal, just standing & watching. He can see the whole picture from where he is. All he has to do is get in the way, he doesn't have to win the ball. He surely has to see a problem there.

NBC commentary team saw it as handball before the ref/linesman ruled it out - my stream was stuttering so I couldn't see it personally - he mentioned off his head onto his hand and praised the linesman.

Kun headed the ball. No doubt about that. And waved with his arms and might and that's a big might have touched the ball. WHO was in it's Way in anyway.

Looked the same on my dodgy stream mate.

I'm presuming it's nailed on handball? Otherwise there's no way a linesman could have spotted it
