Well you can't even choose one.

don't worry, when i start watching baseball or something I'll make sure to A.) check to team's financials and find the worst one and B.) check their wins-losses record and find the worst ratio. when i find a club that meets both of those criteria i'll choose that one to support. that way, i won't be accused of being a plastic fan.

i'm so happy you helped me realize the error of my ways. i won't make the same mistake again.

If you live further afield, in some mystifying obscure way, the team actually chooses you and this has nothing to do with financials, practicalities, success, history etc.etc. but, instead, it's just something in the ether, at a certain point in time, which captures your heart forever.

Silly me, I've obviously been misguided all these years of my life.

well see, as hard as this will be for everyone on here to believe (for whatever reason), this is exactly what happened.
so, you can continue to call me a plastic fan because i really don't care and i know exactly how i started supporting City,

If you say this is what happened to you, then I believe you because, once the phenomenon that is City takes a hold of your heart strings, it will never, ever let go.

On that basis, I hope you'll accept my apologies for having any doubts and misgivings about your feelings for our Club.

Our club?! So you're a Dortmund fan as well?!!

I never thought I'd be praying for Maureen to moan about us again, just so we can get back on thread and direct our bile where it should be going.

Mase,

Please forgive me for being obtuse but I've absolutely no idea what you're talking about, or the point you're trying to make.

Can you please translate ??

Phips said he agreed with your explanation of how you come to support a club. You mentioned 'our club' in response, a plural possessive description that appears to mean(when addressed to Phips), yours and his club. Phips' club (as he has avoided all the posts asking which one he would favour of they played/when they played) is Dortmund

never in a million years would i become a baseball fan. that sport is awful.

I am on no bandwagon. I shit on idiocy because it's fun so post something stupid and watch, other than that I've got nothing against you.

I don't know how anybody can have more than 1 team to support, it's hard enough just following one. Unless, that is, you're only following the top teams then it's not really support, more enjoying the football/winning.
In the words of my Old Man, "Life will never be the same without Man City, so get it in while you can".

That's somewhat tortuous and far too convolutedly subtle for me.

But thanks for clarifying.

I just couldn't emotionally invest in more than one team - I wouldn't have the time for one thing and it would feel like bigamy.

why hasn't a journalist asked Mourinho about the conspiracy against Chelsea again? if there was one then surely Ivanovic would've been banned…i hope a journo has the balls to ask him that in his pre-PSG presser

ridiculously irritating that chelsea will get to face a very depleted psg side while we will will face a very much in form barca.

funny though how blanc also came out to the media saying he told his players not to react to jose's attempts to "raise the temperature on the pitch."
