Lawro and Degenerate predictions gameweek 26

Well well well, once again Lawro has had a feckin epiphany and this time that twat Merson agrees with him!

this week Lawro takes on Superbike superstar Foggy

BBC Sport's football expert Mark Lawrenson is pitting his wits against a different guest each week this season.
Lawro's opponent for this weekend's Premier League fixtures is seven-time World Superbike champion and reality TV star Carl Fogarty.
The Blackburn Rovers fan has tried his hand at predictions before, when he used his Twitter account to guess various football scores, initially with some success. 'Foggy' explained to BBC Sport: "I had this 'Mystic Fog' thing going on Twitter and got loads of results right - but that was two or three years ago. I keep getting them all wrong at the moment." Burnley fans, in particular, will be hoping that his poor run of picking scores continues at the weekend.
The Clarets, who are Blackburn's nearest and fiercest rivals, travel to top-of-the table Chelsea on Saturday and Fogarty is not expecting a particularly close game.
"This is fairly easy," he told BBC Sport. "Chelsea will win 17-0 - I hope."

John Carver has done all right since he was given the Newcastle manager's job for the rest of the season, but his side are lacking what they need to be pushing up the table. The Magpies are a little bit like Swansea in that they are in mid-table and probably not going to move far in either direction between now and the end of the season.

Manchester City still have plenty to play for though. They have Yaya Toure back from the Africa Cup of Nations and Wilfried Bony is set for his debut. They had last weekend off and I think they will be raring to go. City won only one of the five league games they played while Toure was helping Ivory Coast triumph at the Africa Cup of Nations They need Toure to be in the mood and, with their Champions League tie against Barcelona coming up next week, they should look to get this game won as quickly as possible. That way they can start looking at making substitutions to rest people for Tuesday, and take it from there.
Will City get the better of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez & co? I think Barca are very beatable but I think City should look to keep things tight and restrict them at Etihad Stadium on Tuesday.

City will get chances against them, though, and unlike last season when they met at the same stage, I think they will definitely keep the tie alive for the second leg at the Nou Camp.

Lawro's prediction: 3-0
Foggy's prediction: 3-1

Degenerate says

Manchester City v Newcastle United – Saturday Night Football, 5:30pm

With this being the late kick-off the pressure will be firmly on Manchester City. Chelsea will brush past Burnley and City will have no option but to respond.

However, I do believe they will do that against Newcastle. City are the team to watch at the moment because they have to win. Draws are absolutely no use to them and that will make for an exciting game.

Newcastle have done well in recent weeks and I really like John Carver. However, I think this could be a game too far for them.

PAUL PREDICTS: 3-0
