Its not about the time off, its about having 2 high intensity matches + travel in 2.5 days or so. That's stressful on the body, even if youve had the last week or so off

Both games are at home, with 3 days in between after 10 days off.

THANK YOU.
I'm honestly really worried. The way the club has been promoting the Barca game it's like we don't even have a league game at all! (Pellers seems to be the only one)
If the players again think they don't have to turn up and it's still gonna be a win we're in for a shock I tell you.

Dzeko shouldn't be any where near this team for fuck sake, he's been abysmal all season. If we wanna rest Aguero play 451 with Bony, God knows we've got enough midfielders

Spot on.

My thoughts entirely. We HAVE to beat Newcastle or the league is gone and we are even then starting to look over our shoulders at qualifying for next years Champs League. Barca will rip us a new one at the Nou camp regardless of the outcome in first leg imo. Concentrate on league game, every game as it comes etc....

-------------Hart
Zaba-Komps-Mangala-Clichy
--------Yaya--Dinho
Silva-----------------Nasri
-------Bony--Aguero

Has to be that and nothing else for me. And I'd pick the same XI vs Barca too. Give them game time, give them the confidence and let them try their best to get something from Barca.

I'd put Kolarov on tonight. Imo he should start in a home game like this, and vs Barca it's a no brainer that Clichy starts

Also, I'd actually put MDM-Mangler at the back but as Vinnie is never gonna be dropped I'll make just one change.

Up top. whether Bony or Dzeko starts I'm happy with both. But signing Bony has to give Edin a kick in the arse or he will find himself as 3rd choice striker very quickly

I only put Clichy there because personally I feel that this season he's been a better attacking outlet for us as well, usually I'd be well keen for Kolarov to start over Clichy, especially against Newcastle at home, but this season I wouldn't want to leave Clichy on the bench for too many games.

I, too, would have opted for Demichelis-Mangala based solely on our chances in this game but I'd rather see Kompany get another game under his belt before the Barca game.

It'd be nice to win a home game as we haven't done that for a while, and a clean sheet would be a rarity too. Id also ask for a goal from a corner but I realise that's going too far.

I thin 60 mins for Aguero and Bony for the last 30.
Jovetic on for the last 30 also replacing Silva
Fernando on for Fenandinho on 60 also

fuck it... a triple substitution on 60 mins.... get your bets on!

It'll be interesting to see if Bony adding real competition up front will spur on Dzeko or will he sulk.
Id like to see a real professional attitude from himself and Jovetic from here until the end of the season starting on Saturday.
I think with Jovetic in particular, it will be interesting to see whether he is going to show what he is made of, or just decide he's off in the summer.

My own post from before the game:
I think we all saw the answer on Saturday. I'm sensing that Dzeko is up for it but Jovetic......well we'll say the jury is out.
I'd love to see Dzeko hit some form, because he has a knack of scoring important goals.

Jovetic is definitely off as we all know. I still think he'll try though as its his style to be on the front foot in games - i don't think he's unprofessional like that. Just a bit...emo.
