Oh looky here .......... Chavs have appealed ! You couldn't make this shit up !!!!!

It was a shocking challenge and I am sure if that would have happened to one of our star players we would be fuming. I can fully understand when Matic did what he did, doesn't make it right mind but I would have done the same.

Still a nailed on red card. It has never been the case in the past that retaliation can be excused. This appeal should be treated with contempt & an extra game added.

Barnes should be done for the challenge, is what should happen. Who is to say what kind of retaliation is allowed if they let Matic off ?

Funny thing is at real speed it looks perfectly fine but when slowed right down the contact looks horrendous . Can't blame the ref and Matic reaction left the ref with no option , this mornings concerted endless coverage by sky over the incident and Maureen's free reign on one of there programmes yesterday is hard to swallow IMHO .

Which is why, unless they are given a 4th game for a quite ridiculous appeal, then the rules are being bent.

How can no action be taken against Barnes because "the referee saw the incident," and yet when the ref saw the Ben Thatcher incident the book was thrown at him? Odd.

On Matic, if that was a City player who had endured that challenge I would - a) fully understand his reaction, and b) be fuming at him getting a 3 game ban for it and Barnes getting zilch.

And c) if we appealed it, they would make it 4 & you would presumably fume even more.

I think this is a nice, level headed reply to bring some sanity to the discussion from Dyche. Amazing how refreshing it can be to hear someone talk straight and normal after hearing mountains of bullshit.

Very eloquent. It's a bloody shame that he even feels the need to have conduct this interview. Chelsea and Mourinho have shown very little respect to their opponents and to the match official on this occasion (and several others this season). They really are a disgrace.

After pissing the media off by acting a cunt it seems Jose is desperately trying to claw back some respect. I hope everyone sees through these attempts for what they are.

One minute he doesn't want to answer questions next min he's on goals on Sunday trying get sky back on side.

Proper cunt.

It's an interesting interview. He brings up some good points about Chelaea's misdemeanours, but of course the mainstream press have missed th because they allowed Maureen to set the agenda.
As soon as I heard him saying "this game was about minutes 30 " etc I was wondering what happened in the rest of the game he didn't want to talk about.
Dyche was hardly a cultured type of player in his time, but he grows on me more and more as a manager. Very eloquent.

He's a good bloke, reduced to having to spend 15 minutes defending his own players because of some poisonous scumbag who should be thrown out of football. It's a fucking disgrace that football is reduced to this, but watch the fawning tenth-rate football journalists in this country turn a blind eye to the fact.

I don't think Barnes did what he did deliberately, but it was fucking clumsy & potentially dangerous, the way he followed through with his weight on that leg; he didn't need to. I don't think he meant to connect with such force, but I recon he hoped to give someone a bit of a kick.

The first one however, is a deliberate act & quite nasty & their manager is doing a Mourinho by defending it.

I have heard loads of different views on this and I tend to sway to this one.

Barnes was the one playing the ball, his follow through was perfectly natural, it wasn't particularly high and is normal for the type of pass he played.
Matic was the player coming in to block the pass (or make a tackle), he is the one that dived in, again, nothing really wrong with it.

What I do think is wrong is that Barnes did leave his foot in and leg straight which maximises the impact, I think he could have avoided it TBH. However, when you look at the movement and swing, its all a perfectly natural action that you see 100's of times a match.

Your weight would normally be pretty neutral at worst once the ball had gone though, not going forward onto the bloke's leg. He's facing his own goal. Why would he need to be putting that much weight into a backward layoff ? Also, he would surley be knocking the ball back & spinning off if he was genuinely playing, so his weight should have been going the other way, ready to turn, away from Matic.

I think he was trying to give him a scrape, as he did Ivanovic, & got it wrong.

Incidentally, I thought he was the player who caused City most problems, not Ings.

I know I am in a minority but I didn't think either challenge were that bad.
Little has been made of Ivanovic going down like he had been shot, then springing up to berate the ref. cheating cunt.
