FA Cup | Quarter Finals

FA Cup | Quarter Finals

What a refreshin change this game is. Loads of tackles and players just getting up after a decent challenge.

How come the ref would blow up for anything in the PL yet allows everything to go in any other game. Just shows how they are told how to officiate games.

15 minutes to go and still 0-0. Not the greatest game to be fair but the determination from each team is making it a decent match.

Similar to what I posted in the EDS thread about U18 football. The ref letting them get on with it. No fuss, no play acting. Proper challenges.
I think you may well have a point regarding referees being instructed in the Prem.

I watched some extended highlights recently of cup shocks from the 60s 70s and 80s. It was noticeable how few free kicks and rolling round there was. I think it's largely a change in players and refs attitudes. It may be here forever though. I watched a kids game recently which the red called off because the kids were rolling round all the time. The red did warn them but they want to copy Ashley Young etc

Think he just gave that foul the wrong way, pity it's resulted in a red

Unbelievable sending off for West Brom. Bacuna slides in and clashes into the West Brom player rolls around like he's hurt and the other guy gets a 2nd yellow. He only stood there, he didn't even tackle.
The ref has fucked up.

Scott Sinclair with a lovely goal for Villa!
That's his 3rd goal for them since joining.

Great goal by that guy Sinclair, on the break. That's the kind of player we should be looking at.

I can only think from the ref's angle, he sees Jakob's little jump before the tackle and assumes he's dived in.

Great goal from Sinclair. Is he on loan or sold, as I suspect his value is rising again?

Yes I think u are spot on about the ref and that little jump. It's a loan deal with a view to a permanent move.

Grealish sent off now.

Pitch invasion now.
Villa might be in trouble about that. After the game you can kind of understand, but it started while the game was still on.

Just been googling and it's permanent at £2.5m, apparently. Hope he keeps playing well and Villa get relegated so we can sell him elsewhere for a lot more.

At least a City player (tentative) is going to Wembley this season.

Just waiting for MotD as I missed the 2 later games. Had the Spuds to win and wanted to see a game elsewhere.

Feck me, how've the Beeb forced RatBot2 on us! He now gets the chance to sit in a separate studio and give his opinion, with his voice coach. Says it all when he decides that there's no offside due to a shoulder yet half a body in the Chavs game is OK!!! Offside is offside.

Amazing scenes at the end of the Villa v Brom match, invading the pitch for a quarter final win. One of the players got punched a couple of times and one got bitten. Looked like the stewards and police couldn't even be arsed and surely Villa will be facing sanctions?

Just seen this.

I find it very encouraging to see Scott Sinclair doing ok at that level, as we've had the chance to see him in direct comparison to the kids we have in the EDS etc, & imo they are considerably better than him.

If he can do it, then they can, right now.

A lot of those characters who invaded the pitch at Villa didn't look right to me. I doubt most of them go to games very often. Wonder if some are even Villa fans at all.
